Question Good first stampede upgrades 2wd xl-5

have had my 2wd trqxxas stampede for about a year and a half. Haven't used it in a while and just started up again. I was wondering what upgrades would be suggested for a stock stampede xl5. And any suggestions for driving in snow?

    Thanks!!

    Welcome to the forum!
For snow driving I made a set of chains. Here is a link to my thread about it:
    https://traxxas.com/forums/showthrea...ht=Snow+Chains

There are a few good upgrades to get done right away:
    1) Aluminum (STRC or Traxxas) caster blocks
    2) RPM or Aluminum steering blocks
    3) RPM Slash 2WD front bumper
    4) Aluminum shock caps

If you really get the upgrade bug, or as things break, you might consider:
    1) RPM A-arms (I believe there are extended A-arms available now too which widen the stance of your truck)
    2) Aluminum bulkhead
    3) RPM Slash 2WD front skid plate mod
    4) RPM rear skid plate
    5) Swami or T-bone wheelie bar
    6) STRC hinge pin set
    7) Proline Trenchers or Mashers tires

Finally, before you go down the road of replacing a bunch of Titan brushed motors, you might want to consider going brushless with the Castle SCT combo or VXL. More power, longer run time, no maintenance.

    Have fun!

I had another build, a fully exetneded chassis and that was awsome too but a hefty price tag....
You could just but the FLM 1/8 extended chassis and extended arms...with the extended FLM drive shafts...

This was my build then...have since been given away

Both Osu Beaver99 mentioned the castle creations SV3 or th newer VXL; they are more then enough fo the 2wd trucks.

I had use the MMP 3800 and also the DTX 3174 Onyx 4550 combo, all great but I think the MMP was just an over kill for the pede, it has upto 6s capability.

The max I had used on the pedes was 3s geraed 14/54, no matter how much weights I had put at the front, I could not get to full throttle for long....

I'm probably gonna go with the castle creation sct cause it's cheaper. Sorry for askin so many questions but what is a proper cleaning procedure after driving around. I have neglected for a while and most likely have to take it apart and clean it before I can get any upgrades.

    Thanks Yall!!!
