    EMBE race build

Ok I'm starting this thread so I can ask multiple questions with one thread

    What I have so far
    3908
4 integy piggy backs 1:8th scale
    Hobbywing 150a ezrun
    Tacon 2150kv
    Tekno Wing
    2x 2s hard case 5000mah 20-30c

My first question I had to move my shocks forward to use this wing will this affect handling on the track ?

No it won't cause a difference on the track, but eventually you will want a lcd chassis and some better tires. I can post a pick of how i have my 3903 set up for racing if u want

    Please and thank you

I haven't even decided what tires to use yet I think I'm going to use badlands since my track is hard packed with really loose surface

Keep us posted on your build...I would recommend for track racing maybe a tyre like Response Pro. Really good for the conditions you described, no good for asphalt...you will cone your tyres in no time.

Have you really tested the shocks out yet? How do they handle? It would be nice to have to deal w 4 instead of 8. They look like a nice size. You could cut the battery weight in half w 2 2500mahs, like the ones for the 1/16 model if you have one. Keep it as light on its feet as possible. Get some offset wheels too, helps alot!

i assume emaxx1991 that you dont trust the LVD/LVC on the esc? since you have the units on each lipo. that esc looks to be from side to side of the chassis. my sc8 is about a little half the size of the chassis.

Would 2 2500mah last long enough

not if ran in series in parallel it would last the same as 1 5000mah only. with that esc though those lipos would not provide the needed amps if ran in series which your esc is setup as in parallel it would just barely provide the needed amps. the lipos will over heat and puff.

Your run time would be cut in half, but should be plently for a few races. I run a single 4s 3000mah and I get about 15 min.

Yea it's a big esc it fits good though I made a custom mounting bracket for it
I dont trust it yet since I haven't really had a chance to test it

if its anything like the sc8 esc then if you have it set to 3.4v it will stop at about 3.58v its done that to me 2 times now i dont mind since i get about 35-45mins runtime already but i think if you set it at like 3.2v it will stop at about 3.3v+ so you would be safe. hobbywing esc's seem to have come up in the world and very competitive among other top brands out there at double prices nearly.
nice plate you made i have to take my esc off and use the screws they sent me i didnt see them when i installed my esc so i used the double sided tape they gave me instead and some nitro engine mount screws to hold the esc bracket down.

It has been a while since i posted in here but...its almost finished i question. Im using 8ight T front shocks on all 4 corners of my truck but i think i need to limit there travel it seems like since at full extinsion the wheels move closer to the fram its holding the arms at the top instead of settling to its resting point

Emaxx1991- Where did you get that cooling fan heatsink for your motor? i want to pick one up for my motor though its a 4274 size. I know rcecho.com has them but shipping is double price for what the fan costs. Link would help if you have it can send it to my pm. thanks

I would answer your question on shocks but i am not that good about that subject lol

Yup thats the fan+heat sink i am looking for. My temps are more than fine with max ever reaching 126F on 10mins hard running offroad in the dirt and dips and all just i like to have it on there just in case.

If you want to limit the suspension droop/down travel while in the air you can put some fuel tube on the shock shafts under the shock pistons, it will act like limit straps.
    Look out for the tree/crunch!

Gotcha I read the ? wrong.
You definitely want your skids to hit before your shocks bottom out to prevent damage to the shocks, skids are cheep.
RPM wear plates will toughen up the skid area even more.

I have mine set so when the skids are bottomed out there is still a little more up travel to the shocks, like about 1/4 inch.

    Look out for the tree/crunch!

Honestly I feel like its to much even on 4s maybe it's cause I am used to the build up of torque with a nitro but this motor is insane I'm going to change my gearing to 20 65 and if that does not help I'll try 22 or 24 65 temps are staying around 80 to 90 at the back of the motor

As for the shocks there amazing there off my 8ight t I have to buy 4 front ones

I would go with the gearing you said first 22/65 then 24/65 to get it under control though its just gonna get faster on top end but take off will be less which is what i assume your wanting like nitro does. I have 21/65 and it still takes off like a beast more when i had it 21/68 just toned it down a slight with the new gearing. I measure my temps in the middle of my motor back and front the motor is always cooler i found out so middle for me is best to read the hottest temp.
I like those shock limitters you made there. coming along good.

The limiters look good! I won't ever go back to 8 shocks after running 4.
