TQi and the iPod interface is an awesome idea. love it.
I found that many racers like to use a personal lap counter to keep track of their times.
I was thinking about it, and it is not that difficult in hardware to add this to the TQi:
- IV emitter in the border of the track
- IV receiver in the side of the model
- reading just like the RPM counter, only much much slower
- - every time the receiver gets a IV exposure, 1 lap count, 1 rev
The software interface, I have no idea of how much work will be necessary, but in terms of hardware... you already have the difficult part, the counter that is the RPM.
the rest is just the emitter and receiver, basic stuff.
What's IV stand for again?
IV = Infra vermelho
Sorry, portuguese laguage...
I meant IR, Infra Red.
Great idea cable-man!
2008 Stampede VXL
I think yes, it is.
Also would be a plus for the TQi, as a lot of drivers like to use the personal lap counter but do not consider this remote as a serious remote for competition (at least here in Portugal).
This option would take, in this perspective, the TQi to a new range of potential users.
And also, it would be serious fun to know at each lap if you are getting better or worse in your skills
Is an awesome idea... Be cool if it was just a little adj tripod it sat on, so itd be mobile for different tracks and set ups.
I use tapatalk, sorry for grammer!
