I am having trouble with the radio gear on my Slash 6807. It will only go about 10 to 15 feet away then lose contact and
stop. I have only had it about 2 months and it was working fine up untill last weekend.
Have tried 2 sets of new batteries in the transmitter and fully charged the
battery in the car which didn't make any difference, then I reset the
transmitter that didn't work either so tried to rebind the transmitter with
the receiver twice but both times they sat there blinking with a red light
for about ten mins so I just stopped it and it still only goes about 10 to
15 feet away.
Check to see if the little white strand above the metal part of the reciever is there. If that came off you need a new reciever. Also did you drop and break your antenna on the transmitter like I did. That also could be causing it. I had both issues at once and ordered a TQI on sunday.

Yes checked antenna but it looks OK. Does anyone know if it is a Transmitter or receiver problem?

check the antenna is good, with the metal thing, and make sure the rx didn't get wet.
I had same problem except wheels still turned. It was the esc, mine was less than 30 days old and Traxxas replaced it. I mailed it to them in Texas and they sent a new one back. Apparently it is a fairly common issue.
mine did that out of the box. i sent it in and am Still waiting on a replacement radio from traxxas.
It could be either the TX or RX. Or both. I would send it back to traxxas. Let them figure it out. I was having the same issues. I solved the problem with a Flysky FS GT3B. Havent had a bit of problems since.
As I live in New Zealand it would cost quite a bit to send it to Traxxas so I have found someone here who is going to have a look at it for me
By chance, did u leave ur remote on? 2.4 remotes have an issue with buring out their internal 2.4 transmitters, from being left on.. They need heatsinks and such, but they use very low voltage, and theres a converter that has to reduct voltage to the transmitter.. It causes heat, and most manuf dont put in heatsinks on this piece. Not usually a problem, but leaving ur remote on can/will cause this exact thing to happen...
Build, Bash, Clean, Repair, Repeat..
I started having problems like this with a TQi RX, but it was easier to figure out. The ESC flat failed the next day, wouldn't even turn on.
Not a radio problem.

No didn't leave tx on thanks for the heads up though!!
I tried to run my slash with a nimh while still in low voltage protection by mistake one time, ran about 15ft then quit...
update: i got my new radio in from traxxas. Sent me a new tx and rx. Now i can go as far as i can see without losing range.
That's good how long did you have to wait? Mine used to go that far too hopefully it will again soon!!
hmm about 2 weeks a little over actually.
Hi thanks everyone for your input just giving you an update.
After 2 months I finally have got my slash fixed first of all they thought it was the rx but after finally getting one 2 weeks ago they realised it wasnt it after all, it was the tx so I finally got a new one sent down yesterday.
I'm just glad it was all covered under the warranty!!
