17mm hex do not seem to fit correctly

    Hi all,

So I stole some brand new rims and dirtbonz tires from a friend with a savage.
They come with a 17mm adapter, however when I put them on, the driveshaft can move around a bit.
I was thinking I can just dremel about 2mm deeper and then they will be fine.
Any ideas? Or is there a specific adapter I should order from Towerhobbies or such? I would like to try and avoid this as it takes about 3 weeks for the stuff to get to me...

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Heres how it looks with the Traxxas ones and the Savage ones:

I had a closer look and I will need a bush as well.
Nope, definitely won't go on much more than that.

You can always put some teflon washers behind the adapter or in front of the bearing on the stub axle before you put it through the knuckle.

teflon washers are the way to go, i run that setup on my eslayer and have had no issues.

traxxas part # 3981 does the trick, IIRC i have 3 behind each hex.
