    Merv shock upgrade

I am currently running the Trencher 2.2 on Desperados with the full t-bone brace and bumpers. I heard the GPM shocks are good but don't allow the car to fully bottom out and cause stress on other parts. Is this true? Will my setup be ok for the GPMs and make a difference with ground clearance? Are there better shocks like the GTRs?

I haven't heard much about the gpm ones. The exotek big bores are usually considered to be the best but they are pricey.

That's weird I can't find them either, I could have sworn I saw them on their site a couple weeks ago.
Here they are on amazon, out of stock for your convenience:
    http://www.amazon.com/BORE-SHOCKS-RE...350489-8182452

But who knows they might get back in stock soon.

I'm with Jimdog on this one, while I hear the exoteks are amazing, I got myself a set of hot racing shock bodies for like $14 shipped. I haven't had the chance to put them on yet (stupid school), but it seems most people like them well enough.

If you have the money and want to put ~$70 into your suspension by all means do it, I just don't have that kind of budget. Hopefully the ~$55 I saved will find its way into my summit some other way.

    I think they were discontinued.
That would explain why they're hard to find

The GPM shocks are absolutely horrible. Too long shafts and soft bodies with poor o-rings, very leaky.
Really a poorly executed product from my exp.

The Exoteks are sadly long discontinued. Last i've seen them in stock anywhere is over 1.5 years ago.
If i recall correctly someone here contacted Exotek, and they said that they will not make them anymore as they lost their source for the parts. They were re-branded shocks from another manufacturer and Exotek only added the mounts to the package if i'm not mistaken.

Your best bet are probably the HR shock bodies with stock TRX internals or some 50-55mm 1/10 touring car shocks if you are able to fab a mounting solution yourself.

Thanks everyone! Will I also need the aluminum shock caps, spring adjusters and retainers? They're sold separately.

Exotek = YeahRacing shocks with mounts.
Yeah Racing stopped producing those shocks quite a while ago. I ran the YR shocks... they were super cheap at around $20-30 for the full set with quite a few piston and spring options.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Man that would be nice if they were still making them. I'd get a set for that price.
