Hey guys.. I got a buddy who I just found out used to be into rc planes pretty big, and i showed him my nes MMP set up and how I needed some bullet connectors for the motor. But how I sucked at soldering.
Then he proceeded to tell me, he has a ton of them and is great at soldering. And how he'd hook it up for me for free..
Then he asked if I used deans and of course I don't.and he said he could switch all my stuff over to deans if I wanted him to.
So I thought, my charger is deans I just had to rig it up to fit TRX. Most batteries that I've ordered come wit deans, and deans seems to be more universal than TRX. Even though TRX is catching up
So I wanted some good opinions. What your thoughts? If u could choose what your rcs came with stock, would u choose deans or TRX? And why or why not,
Some pros and cons ya know good vs bad?

Yea he said he hook them all up everywhere I needed them, Esc, battery, series and parallel connectors.. What's the difference in the two other than the oblivious, that they look different? Can u give me some pros and cons?
Come on people give me a few pros and con? Or is there any r they excatly the same other than deans being more universal?

they dont have much difference as the contact area is about the same. u would only notice a difference in high voltage and current spots, which a merv does not have at all. its basically apples vs oranges, just what u prefer and how ur batteries/charger are
O ok.. Well I think I'll go deans then since that's how my charger is and most batteries I order come wit deans, and considering that it's free and very universal I think they're the way to go...
O never mind gotta stay loyal TRX all the way

They are both good. Like JJVeld mentioned you'll only notice in high draw situations because there is more contact area. They are both reusable but the TRX doesn't need shrink to cover the connection. I do use both.

If I had a guy to solder it for me and it was free i'd take deans.
i like mine now that they are all traxxas deans worked ok but never liked the looks of them
both are high current capable
either is a fine choice.....
i am actually switching to deans, well, the knock-offs anyways... their quality is just fine, and they are cheap
TRX look better in my opin., but deans look easier to w/proof? not sure though.

Deans are much easier to put together and pull apart which might act to save you from breaking a wire off.. BUT... I use all Traxxas because I find deans are the worst things in the world to solder.. Ahhhhh.. I might as well just burn my money as try to solder deans.. I melt the connector every time..
Also I find deans look like an after thought, where Traxxas connectors look like they where meant to be there..

That's true.. Plus TRX is black and hats the color theme I'm goin for black and chrome deans would through that off
madkaw u are supposed to take the tabs out to solder so u dont touch the plastic. its really easy just take a flat screwdriver and pry the tab up and u should b able to pull it out

I stayed with TRX.. No real reason other than just didn't feel like switching everything.
This question was in the traxxas alley but here is really the answer TRX because there is more surface are and solder space for wires
but the connector can easily break if not seperated form the battery carefully.
Deans are nice because they are easier to reuse, but connectors are so cheap, it's easiest to buy new ones. i've never successfully been able to resolder a TRX connector that a wire came off of. The thing is you can't pull the metal part back out of the plastic connector once it's seated and it's too hard to stuff the end of the soldering iron into the hole.
The thing I like about the TRX connectors is they are big and easy to grab. This keeps people from pulling on the wires to disconnect the plugs. So, i use TRX and in the old days used PowerPole connectors.
The metal tab will come out of the plastic of a TRX connector... even if the wire broke off.
Use a screwdriver and push it out the opposite way it came in.
I have successfully re-soldered numerous TRX connectors...
the trick with the broke ones is to heat the tab up and smack the old wire off...
and to have a 60+watt iron.
But, reusing TRX can only be done a few times...
the plastic tabs that hold the metal part in will eventually weaken and fail to do anything.
I currently use XT60's for my 16ths and TRX for my Summit...
once I get my MT4G3 I will use TRX in that as well.

What made u decide xt60's
All 12 of my batteries came with them...
and they are less than $4 for 5 pair when shipped with other items.
(BTW I sold 6 of them batteries... there was no sense in me keeping 6 hours of run time. lol)
