    new car

I finally got a car! I get my license in october, but my parents wanted me to get used to the car before I drive it by myself. I got a charcoal colored 2003 ford focus zx3 and it is a fun car to drive, it came with aftermarket street tires. What do you think?

    Pics or it didnt happen

Those cars get decent mileage if you dont have a heavy foot. Make sure you keep up on the maintenance, but thats true of anything. And congratulations.

Until I get my license, my dad's going to use it as his commuter car. I'll get some pics up in the morning if I can get my camera working. We got it for like $3600 and it had 85,000 miles on it which is pretty good. The previous owner said he got about 30 mpg. We filled the tank up from near empty and it ended up being about $38 for almost 11 gallons which I calculated gets me to school and back for about two weeks. I wanted a standard transmission and/or truck, but unfortunately there just werent any good trucks or standard transmission cars for sale. Thanks for the congrats.

I had an 07 focus ZX3 with the SAP (sport appearance package). It was a great car. i really liked it and with a few minor upgrades it was a really fun car. Mine was auto as well. Which was the only downside to it. But with an intake and exhaust, lowering springs and some 18's it was sweet.

heres a pic just for fun.

BTW, check out www.focusfanatics.com for all the focus help and info you could ever need or want. They're good guys over there.

http://my.imageshack.us/v_images.php here are the pics I took this morning. While I was at school today, my dad went and got license plates for it because i was driving it without plates yesterday. That's a pretty sweet looking focus pavementsurfer. Yeah I've heard of that website, I don't know how much I'll use it though. My dad said that since he bought it, I'm not allowed to do anything to it but put gas in it and drive it.

^^^ Pave I was just going to link him to that site. It's really great....tons of knowledgeable people and even if your not allowed to do any major modding there are still tons of good tips and tricks. I have learned a lot so far about our Focus.

Also, for the pics, it says that you have to log in to see them. Too bad I don't have an account.

    Pics work!

Looks clean..... no major body or paint damage. According to edmunds, that car got 29mpg hwy NEW, so I'd say it's probably around 24 or so combined right now.

Also, it had 130hp new. More than a new corolla. Not too shabby. Did you get it from a used dealer?

Overall, I'd just go over the basics.... air filter, oil, etc.

And finally enjoy your new ride and the freedoms that come with it!

That's pretty good. We got it off craigslist. The only noticable blemish is theres a spot on the roof where my dad thinks the previous owner tried to buff out a scratch. Yep we went over the basics when we first got the car. Thanks, I will!

I was looking at the pictures you posted and in this one I see the marks on the hood. Is the insulation under the hood?

If not you may want to replace it the heat from the engine will ruin the paint job.
