    Best on-road & dirt tires?

I'm looking to transform my 1/16 slash (soon to be vxl) into the best all around performer possible. (thread on other forum)I haven't decided if I want to go MERV first or Rally/on-road first, so I'm looking for advice on that. I really like the scale look of the Rally -- especially with some after-market tires/wheels & body, plus it would be cheeper (no new A-Arms, rods, etc. but I would still need body, body posts, & bumpers.)

What types of wheel & tires combinations work the best on the 1/16s for on & offroad driving? I like the look of these wheels, but don't know if they would fit, or if the tires work well. My LHS does races in the parking lot every week, so I'd like to be decent there, but still be able to go off-road. Maybe I should use the stock Slash wheels for offroad and just buy on-road tires? The stock wheels are UGLY though (to me at least )

    Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

    Just saw this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iql6_...eature=related
The tires there are the stock slash ones, so they can be my offroad tires (I'll dye them solid black or something).
I'm now convinced that I'm going rally. Cost also helps Any specific tread design that works well on road? Don't really want drifting yet (I'll get a 2nd set of tires for that).

The best tire for on road is foam...

That's what I thought, but I'm having trouble figuring out what tires actually fit on the slash/rally, without being too big/small. Do I need a specific offset? Maybe I should just take the truck to my LHS when I get the VXL and see what tires they have that will fit... Any links to wheels/tires/foams that both work well, last for a while, and fit the slash/rally?

http://www.rcplanet.com/Traxxas_1_16...%20Course=4801 -- I assume those will work just fine? It looks like item #6 would work well on road, any experience with it?

Check this thread, full of good tire stuff:
    Rally with aftermarket wheels tires.

... been a while since it was updated so fell back some pages.
    The prototype project.
