After installing the HR steel gears in my tranny, I really love how loud the car is. It sounds so scary flying down the road. I'm sure a steel spur and pinion would be even more loud, but I can't seem to figure out if they're good or bad. Some people say they'll wear down just like any others and some say that they can cause problems. Do any of you experienced guys have input on these? They are pricy, but the sound is so cool.
the pinions will cost $15 and they are not worth all the extra rotating weight, they will fry slippers and there needs to be a weak link somewhere

Are the steel gears in the tranny also extra rotating weight?
Yes, the steel gears in the transmission are added rotating weight. And jimbo is rite! Spurs are plastic for a reason... they are ment to strip if something isnt rite. If you get a metal spur then the weak spot will move to a different part. My guess would be the drive shafts or you wheel hexs.
