So only two choices so far, add an FLM diff to your existing stock Traxxas trans or.........do an entire upgrade to the new Proline Racing Trans with a 'sealed differential' FLM upgrade about $45, Proline upgrade about $100 but includes several other beneficial features.

Thanks O.G. for letting this thread roll on..........
No prob kwitty, but I somehow missed the updates til now... How is your FLM diff holding up?

Wow! Mine didn't take that long to arrive but up in an earlier post I complained about how long it took. Who did you order from? RC-Monster was slowwww.

Mine took 30 days to arrive: Ordered April 29th and here it is May 29th.

I'm going to open up my track slash transmission this weekend and give the FLM a good going over. I put new silicone fluid in it this summer, probably June 2012, and I'd like to see if any leaked out.

The point of the diff fluid is to slow the gears inside the diff so if any leaks out and gets on your running gears its putting stress on your motor and slowing you down. So no you don't want it to leak out. But if you are running regular grease in it let it fly.

That's right. The fluid I use in my differentials aren't the correct lube for the ring gear. The ring gear should have a thin coat of the black traxxas grease or any automotive lithium-based grease.

Inside the diff I use bad horsie diff grease or silicone oil especially made for this application.

I'm putting my new HR sealed diff in my 2wd Pede and I had filled that diff with wheel bearing grease and it all slung out over the summer... my trans case is pretty much spattered with reddish grease. I'll post up some pics on my HR review (here) when I'm finished.
