So who gets nervous with sand?

Edit. Sorry mods, I meant to put this in the erbe forum, could you move it for me please, Doh!!

From my previous posts it's obvious that I bash on sand and love it. I thought I would show that after a year of only running on sand my revo has shown no signs of wear and tear due to sand and ti show those that are a little scared they can get out there and enjoy it.

I ran 2 sets through her this morning, 6s and 4s.

After the session, without any outerwears cover or any protection.

    I quick air hosing later:

I havent changed a spur in months, still on the original bearings and they have been regularly checked and show no signs of notchiness or grinding. I opened up the esc the other week and there was only a few grains of sand in there.

This truck is pretty awesomely protected from sand so my advice to anyone wanting to try it is just do it and clean her properly afterwards.

It's just the esc fan that I worry about....although I run a fairly conservative ratio on 6s.

Haven't had any sand-related problems either but I do have an Outerwears shroud on the car though...

You're not running with paddles on sand though, the paddles throw so much sand inside the truck when you turn if you are on the gas,
Hows that nitro taste on your electric?

Good point, but further proving my point that Erbes are tough enough for sand.

I run my EMBE and my friend runs his brushless e revo in sand quite often without issue. I do put pantyhose on top of the esc and blast with air when finnished.

Small rocks getting into the esc fan worries me.
Wrapping it in pantyhose is a good idea, never thought of that one

Sand gets everywhere. Guys who run motorcross swear it gets inside the engine.

I started doing that when I found a tiny rock stuck in my fan. Esc was up to 160f on 6s.

That is a good idea, but my wife doesn't wear panty hose.....and I won't caught buying them.

I've run my E-Maxx at a baseball diamond twice and I don't believe I'll ever do it again. Running a smaller, less complex 2WD buggy or a Stampede is one thing, but dismantling a complex 4WD truck like an E-Maxx or Revo is painstaking and it / sand seems to get into every little crevice and abrade components.
