    started the bodywork on the slash

    Started the body on my slash today . This with be my second body I painted (First was my son's stampede ) this is the first layer for the carbon fiber . I will post as the colors build , it wont be anything fancy but its mine LOL.

    next layer in the carbon after the silver is a light black

    this will be followed by more sliver with the silver sections then the base color of the rest of the truck ,red .

    That is going to look killer! I like the carbon effect. Gotta try that on a road bodyxsometime. Painting bodies is one of my favorite aspects of RC.

    I masked with mesh wall plaster tape . then light coat of silver , light coat of black , light silver then final solid coat of black . I used the same process with they foam drawer liner for the box of the Stampede - But this pattern of the mesh tape would be better scale to the body .

    Wasn't going to cut the detachable fenders - i love the widybody look but if I don't i need to trim the rear wheel wells alot .I'm not sure if I would like the lines with that much trimming . I need to size it up more . I could cut a piece of alluminum to extend the frame that would stretch the wheelbase to fit with the wider body . Or just trim it up and have the detactible fenders .

    I like this but may try a raptor next time . Not sold on the fenders -but the body was free .
