    Massive tires for Summit

RC4WD Demolishers, absolutely huge, bigger than Kongs, almost 10 inches tall!. They are listed on the site under 40 series tires but says that "This tire is designed to fit wheel part # Z-W0041" I emailed them and Mike over there got back to me right away and said they are now working on a wheel for these tires with a 17mm hub. So, these are on my wish list, but first I think I will upgrade to the Summit aluminum diff cups and beef up the diffs so they don't flex like they do with plastic cups, I think this is why alot of folks have problems with "weak" diffs.

    Specification:

    Outer Diameter: 9.8" (250mm)
    Width: 5.7" (145mm)
    Inner Diameter: 3.8" (96.52mm)
    Reinforced sidewall support
    X5 sticky compound
Weight: 0.96kg/2.11lbs (each tire with foam)

Nice huge tires but I think they are huge to the point they will only be for show. Many negatives to extra tall tires. Heavy strain on the drive train/axles/motor. Much higher center of gravity. Will require a strong steering servo. . Actcually will be worse at climbing hills. And as for rock crawling, I dont see much flex in theses tires.
Just for fun I ran a set of kongs, great for rolling over cars but too heavy for much else.

Im just a guy who tries to see all the angles.

Right, they certainly wouldnt be for everyday use/bashing, heck they weigh over 2 pounds each without wheels!. But they would have thier place in my collection. And this is why I have decided also to buy the aluminum diff cups, i think they will really beef up the drive train. No flex is my big thing.

They just need to build a 1/5 scale Summit.
Bash OR crawl? No, the Summit does it all!

With almost 10" of diameter wouldn't the turning radius be reduced? I'm thinking it would hit into the body.

If you look up joker tv, you can follow burnedup's build. He had a few vids too.
tires will only be for show or snow. Too big and wide to be of much real use.

IMHO, it looks kinda silly with that HUGE tires, they are still cool though. And the 'look at me' factor is even bigger than the tires!

There is very little space between the front tire and the rear. Its almost like running treads.

They are out (or at least a version of them). A guy was selling a set on line for $90+, but he knew nothing about the tires. For that matter I dont know much else myself. They look nicer than Trenchers

it would be really cool if traxxas made a straight axle scale summit... i honestly think that would sell the most out of any type of vehicle... i think with a 1/5 scale summit there would be even less places to drive because you need bigger terrain.. but it would definitely be awesome!

I like the Summit because it is "not" a straight axle. Those Tires remind me of that old Bigfoot with the ridiculously tall tires. Fun for show but that truck was a real slug...lol!
