Any ideas on straps or battery tray mod for batteries bigger then 45-50mm?

I have some 6s batteries that i use on my off road vehicles and i was wondering if anyone has tried any mods to hold in those bigger batteries in the XO-1

Here's how the battery sits in the XO-1 right now. Just need to hold them in place some how.

Maybe buy some trays with Velcro straps and mod them into the XO-1.

A couple zip ties can do the trick.

Those taller mounts only works with batteries smaller then 43mm.
    I have 6s batteries that are 45mm+

Wait for the aftermarket to come out with a elegant solution. I'm running 44m packs, barely fit.

Wonder when that's gonna be. It hard enough finding stock replacement parts.
I know it'll be worth the wait though to have a legit part rather then me ghetto rigging something. For now I'll just try some simple straps.

Here's why it doesn't work now.

If this was one solid piece it would probably work. Just extend the mounts even taller then the longer one Traxxas offers.

I was hoping to run my 6S battery but if the balance is off I'll just run two 6s lipos in parallel and see how the extra weight handles compared to one single battery.

I can probably help you out for around $20 to $40 with some custom manufactured parts. PM if interested. :-)

Was it too tight of fit to bring the Velcro up between the lipo and the battery strap hold down?

Woah.. did someone say 3D printer?
Can i get some stuff grown if i send you the file? I'm a jewelry designer and all i have is milling machines that cuts wax... I'd love to get some plastic stuff grown.
Here's my machines that doesn't help me at all with hobby stuff because wax is worthless until its casted.

The one time i made anything i had to cast the wax out in Sterling silver but that something I'll never do again.
FMIC for my 1/10 drift car... this was before HPI started offering them in plastic.

    Thanks man. Its Investment Casting.
instead of using sand and pouring melted metal into the hot shell we use Investment that dries harder to get more detail in. Also the type of machine we use is centrifugal so it forces the metal into the hot shell instead of just using gravity.
You can't see much here but that's me melting the metal and casting. That's the old fashion way that we use for Gold. We have an automated machine that we use for Platinum.

1:55 is where i do the final heat up and spin.

    Great!

Just make sure you install the vertical uprights correctly. If you look closely you will notice the holes are not centered, but offset.

Is your business near the high school and Curry Doughnuts? My buddy has a place upstate and we drive through your town. Hes about 30 minutes from Meshoppen, on 858.

I know where you are. I love the area. Its the only place left where we can ride our dirt bikes and shoot guns off the back porch. Are there any tracks in the area? I also own a Losi 5t. Im about 2 hours from Tunkhonnack. I live 10 minutes from the Philly airport.

Thanks again badbrad222. I had to remount my Gyro because of the new battery mount and now its more solid because i have the 3M tape holding the Gyro on the bottom and the back against the battery mount.
