    P4DE turning itself off ?

Hi, this is on a VXL, SPC 2S battery.

I can't quite figure out why my car turns itself off after a flip. Battery connections seem solid. If the car flips down the road, i have to press the button on the VXL ESC to turn it back on. Can't quite figure out why.

Has anyone else seen this, and what did it turn out to be ?

From what I've read on here, the button on the VXL ESCs are kind of unreliable. I'm guessing the button is getting glitchy and is indirectly getting pressed during a flip. I'd call Traxxas and see if there is anything they can do for you, as far as exchanging the ESC for you.

Thanks, does anyone know if the Hobbywing SC8 will work with the older type Velineon 2 Pole motor ? (which is what this truck has) TBH, if i need to change the ESC i may as well just buy a new ESC.

This is my spare truck... I'm really happy with the SC8 on my main truck.

    I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Finally getting around to sorting this out.. Traxxas offered me a replacement ESC for $60, via an RMA.. So i'd have to send my old one in...

For an extra $6 i can just buy an SC8.. Which i think we'd all agree is a better option..

So much for Traxxas's lifetime electronics warranty. More like, we hope it breaks so that we can make 500% profit on the replacement part from you.

Some guys have had luck opening the case on the ESC, and sanding the opening of the button hole with a little sandpaper.

    Worth a shot i guess.

Not a bad little tip fella's... What have i got to lose anyway.. Thing is as good as toast as it is... Can't keep running up and down to go turning it back on... Rather not spend the $60 on my backup truck.. So may as well give it a try.
