    Can you over-volt a tq 2.4ghz radio

I am trying to install a 7.4 lipo battery into a "project" radio that will include the traxxas tq mother board. I know that the max voltage of a tq 2.4ghz radio is 4 AA batts (6+volts) but has anyone ever surpassed this limited with posistive results(7-8volts) ?

I am currently running 7.4v to my receiver and it is holding up fine. The transmitter may or may not take a higher voltage.
I couldn't find a yah or nah on it. I just had to try and see if it fried.
