Can a summit vxl really do standing backflips? I looks cool, but not sure...

Hi, I was considering buying a summit 1/16, but I am looking for something with a lot of initial takeoff power like an hpi savage flux. Does anyone know what kind of torque the mini summit has? Thanks

Yes, the mini Summit will readily pull standing back flips.

You'll have to use a 3S Li-Po battery at appropriate gearing, and you'll probably hurt your differentials doing too many start and stop full throttle action.
Just accelerate, and only good will come.

Even then, it is not good for them.

That is a lot of torque being applied in a short amount of time... which is hard on everything and anything.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Its also the landing at full throttle that risks damage.

Great Novelty Act....not recommended...as others have stated.

Go get a Savage Flux if you want safer standing backflips....

it will do standing backflips but not with the stock nimh. With 2s lipo, I can do them although I try not to.

After the tranny flip in the process of conversion to Summit, my Mervmit does a front flip when I brake hard enough. If I tighten the slipper a bit, I'm sure a standing backflip is a piece of cake. Not that you will see me doing it, because the strain on the drive train is something I don't want.

Sorry I know this is an old thread but I can do a standing back flip with two nimhs in parallel, you will destroy driveshafts though..

Funny! Lol. I broke my first gear in tranny doing repeated backflips off the wall! Nothing wrong with old posts.

And yes I did standing backflip with NiMH in series.
