Nitro 4-tec and HPI T-drift tires = bad experience

Just had 100% failure trying to mount drift tires
    What a bummer!!

Wheels had been in freezer for long time, and i dropped a tire into boiling water for 20-25 seconds. i tried to pop it on, just as i've seen the videos, and only made it half way.

So frustrated!! My thumb is torn up from trying to force the thing on as well.

So, now my question is - anyone know how i can get the half mounted tire on (or off)?

Appreciate any help you all might have.

I'm not 100% certain the HPI t-drifts fit on these wheels.

    Thanks!

Not sure on the best way to get those back apart (I'd try to heat the "tire" with a hair dryer), but the reason they've fought you going together is that those "tires" are designed for a 1.9" rim and the 4-Tec rims are 2.0" in diameter and that .1" difference can make a world of difference in mounting a tire (as well as final tire diameter believe it or not!) , especially when you start trying to mount a plastic tire that is just that hair too small!
