97mm for front and rear, additional parts (rod ends and shock retainer) change the length for you

if you are a racer, you might need all the list from Crusey to fine tune (front is lower, rear is higher, soft with grey springs and 35wt oil).

If you are a basher and your truck is heavy with MT tires, large motor, then i suggest you to get the vorza rear shocks (very much the same as D8 shock, taken out of the vorza of course with orange springs - which is stift). You can get 4 of them for $55 shipped.
I recently got one set, and could not be happier. I mount the front as is but use the outer holes on bottom and inner holes on top to get the truck lower.
For the rear, i got the D8T long shock end (rear) - HBS67820 to raise it up a little.
Other than that, i used stock mounts and some spacer laying around

    1fstmr2,
i don't have the 2nd slash but a quick check on them and I see that they both use the same shocks - regular or big bores.
so sure the d8 or vorza 97mm shocks should fit on your 2nd slash.

Thank you for all the really good ideas. If I buy these will I be all set to go for the front and rear?

Will I need the stand-offs for the front and back?

    Thank you.

I use the stand offs for front and rear. For the front I use the rears just to mount the shock to
Towers. Then I use the fronts to push shock out some and a washer on outside

that is what the specs say.....

    the 29mm is #109831 (I am finding 106mm)

    the 38mm is #109833 (I am finding 124mm)

Also, I plan on these being run on the LCG Slash 4x4

I take it you bought the kit that you have to assemble the shocks yes? If so I believe you did order wrong set. I have a few spare d8 one is front and the other are the optional rears which measure 112mm eye to eye. But measures taller when going too to bottom. I'll check these out tomorrow after work.

That is what I ordered, the parts where you have to assemble them. Is it too late to make them work? Wish I would have found more info on them before I ordered

I've been through hpi website comparing the two shocks. The ones you ordered belongs on a D812. The ones I have and others have belong on a vorza. They aren't interchangeable according to site and tech support. Yours are taller now maybe just maybe you might be able to use your front shocks on the rear. If not see if you can return them. Post 15 of this thread are the exact same ones I ordred
