    steering backwards

Went out to use my VXL Stampede with my 6 year boy a couple of his friends and somehow the steering got screwed up.
When i steer right it turns left and when you turn left it goes right.
Would anyone be kind enough to let me know how to reset it so it steers correctly.

    Thanks,
    snookuda

Slide button on TX that reverses the channel 1 servo was bumped.

I have the Stampede VXL with traxxas link TQ transmitter.
Can you be more specific on this slide button. On the bottom of the remote control i have the on/off slide button and a menu and set button.
Im not sure about a channel 1 servo, is it on the transmitter or truck?

    Thanks,

On the TQ you have to go to your manual and find out how to push the button sequence to reverse steering servo.

Mine keeps switching back and forth. Really a poor radio in this regard.

In fact, mine is so bad, I had to write the code sequence on a piece of paper and tape it to the bottom of the transmitter, so I can switch it when necessary. Always an unplesant suprise when it is reversed.

Traxxas really dropped the ball on this one.

Most questions like this can be easily and quickly answered by looking in the manual first. Most of the answers youll get will just be what is listed in the manual anyway. Youll be surprised how helpful and thorough the manual is with these trucks.

The manual is certainly helpful on how to fix this but there is a bug in the radio that causes this. Ours switch on their own occasionally too. Many others have reported this and I wish Traxxas would address the problem.

Seems to happen to us all. Luckily mine only did this one time! It would really be really bad if the trim got out of whack all the time ;(
Then there would be a super annoying problem.
But reversing the steering once a month or even a week is not to big of an issue.
So I taped my hamster to the Pede..

I myself have never had a issue with the 2.4 link system. Once I set everything up it has always stayed that way.
But here is the procedure taken right from the manual:

To REVERSE the direction of the STEERING servo

Press and hold MENU; green LED blinks

Press MENU; green LED blinks (x2)

    Press SET; green LED blinks

    Press SET; red LED blinks

Press SET to reverse servo direction; green LED blinks (x8)

Press and hold menu; returns to driving mode
My previous sig conflicted with a forum policy.

When I had this problem this is what I did:

    transmitter OFF

    Hold MENU and SET

    Turn transmitter ON

Release MENU and SET, red led will blink

Press MENU and red LED blinks twice

Press SET to clear settings. LED will turn solid green. Transmitter restored to default

This is how to restore it back to factory default. Its in the quick reference guide and it worked for me
    1 extended pede
    1 stock length pede

The restore to factory default is the temporary fix. It's apparently an ongoing issue for some including me.

    thanks guys,
    i think dave00bears suggestion worked.
I had misplaced my hardcopy manual and downloaded it from online.
after fixing the steering, somehow the throttle forward and reversed got switched, but i was able to get it working and now have printouts on how to fix.

    Thanks,
    snookuda
