    Lightbulb Rustler VXL top speed

i was just wondering....i noticed everyone brags about how fast their rustler vxl goes....but what is the top speed in 132ft..theres no sense in goin 75 mph in 250ft...the challange is setting it up for the 1/10 scale quarter mile..wich is 132ft...

I have no idea what the best scale 1/4 mile time is but why is that more sensible than doing top speed runs? To me lap time on a given track would be the best judge since the Rusty is an off road Stadium truck not a top speed or quarter mile truck. I guess to each their own.

I kind of like the idea of a 1/4 mile run.

I think simply finding out how fast your rustler CAN go is the coolest thing to go for. I think the fastest a stock VXL has gone was just under 80? Or was it closer to 90mph without any motor/ESC upgrades. I cant remember but it wasent too long ago. I did 71.4mph with a stock VXL stampede...

There are already RC dragsters... if your going to do speed runs with a stadium truck why not see how far you can push the boundaries of that truck, regardless of distance.

I've seen heavily modified Rustys go that fast but never a stock one. The fastest I have ever seen a Stock Rusty do was 75 mph.

I guess that was it. I know it was just recently the guy posted the video here on the forums. Either way, its pretty fast from a stock truck and I personally really like the idea of testing a stock setup to see how fast it CAN go... without modifications.

Why are you comparing two totally different things? Drag racing and Top Speed are completely different. Have you never heard of the bonneville salt flats?

Hello buds... I'm new to the forum and glad to see all this information on the Rustler VXL. I just got one and I'm a newby on the hobby. Based on a formula to determine Tehoretical Top Speeds with a stock rustler VXL, I got this:

    Speed
    w/Anaconda w/Trenchers
Battery Spur Pinion 4.10" dia. 4.86" dia.
    LiPo 2S 20 76 30.6 36.2
    83 28.0 33.2
    86 27.0 32.0
    25 76 38.2 45.3
    83 35.0 41.5
    86 33.8 40.0
    28 76 42.8 50.7
    83 39.2 46.4
    86 37.8 44.8
    31 76 47.4 56.2
    83 43.4 51.4
    86 41.9 49.6
    LiPo 3S ) 20 76 45.8 54.3
    83 42.0 49.7
    86 40.5 48.0
    25 76 57.3 67.9
    83 52.5 62.2
    86 50.6 60.0
    28 76 64.2 76.1
    83 58.8 69.7
    86 56.7 67.2
    31 76 71.1 84.2
    83 65.1 77.1
    86 62.8 74.4

I really hope the info does not mess up after uploading it. I have an excell format where you just input all variants: Kv, Spur, Pinion, Tire size, Voltage, etc... and it throws the THEORETICAL top speed of the car. I have not tried all of them, but for the ones I have compared Theoretical VS Real life...the file works.

Let me know if you can confirm some of them!

    Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. I always say I'll upgrade as I break but it never happens lol
