I got new E-revo and ran maybe like 30 mins and I found my spur gear all burned up. So I ordered but mistaken the size. Is it ok to install smaller size . 62T.
When I open I found the original is 65T.
here is old one burned, dont know how it is burned that way.
Can you help me take a picture of your spur gear , I found it is hard to fit 65T , because it feel like it will touch the body. That's how I look the the teeth the old one burn, if you look the picture, the teeth does not even.
Read the manual. The e-revo is set from factory that let the clutch is set to let it slip for break in purposes.
This look like you burnt through the clutch.
62T should be OK with the dual titan motors.
I have single motor , this truck is newest I think they upgraded the motor. MODEL#56087-1. You think at this point , I need to replace the clutch assemply?, I also dont have the 2 washer from this . http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Oh, no doubt it will be fine with the 62T. People typically run 18T/54T on the e-revo.
I would get the whole kit from DHZ. But they messed up the price, should be about 23$ for the pinion, spur, clutch and all the accessories with it.

does it come with 2 spur gear?. I only use either one?
Yeah, it comes with both 54t and 65t, everything listed in the site. The 54T is the optional spur that comes with the EREB.
I guess 54T is more respond high speed? since it is smaller gear? but not as fast when going higher mileage?
Smaller spur = more speed.
But, larger pinion also = more speed.
Just watch out for your motor and ESC temp if you decide to run 18T pinion and 54T spur.
It seems mine is getting a little hot, but I still have to get a temp gun to check my temps.
>smaller spur gears = lower motor temps, lower top speed, but much more powerful acceleration
>larger spur gears = higher motor temps, slower acceleration, but higher top speeds.
The lower the gear ratio the less stress on your motor (ie 18/90 is less stress than 20/50) so if you are bashing, you should run lower gearing than if you are doing single run speed passes.
Why do I have all these leftover parts???
what is the temp is too high?
I got temp gun, plus the vehicle got telemetry sensors.
I am curious this vehicle have the washer at the spur gear?
this package does not inluded http://www.dollarhobbyz.com/catalog/...slipper-clutch
but this does. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o00_s00
When i took mine out, it does not have either, should I use it anyways?
The 2 washers are for the revo nitro engine because it doesn't the use spring like the e-revo.
The 2 washers went straight to the garbage for me...

Thanks Illusionx, i replace everything including the clutch, spur gear. Everything work great and love smaller gear, it is pick up accel quick. Do I still need to break in? or I am ok at this point and start bashing? THanks again all your helps.
Lol breaking in is up to you. The clutch is like brakes on a real car, they don't work 100% when you just changed them, and will be good when it has worn down a little bit so the whole pad contacts the clutch surface.
Just loosen it half turn and run through one battery pack without too many hard acceleration.
I did 3-4 80-90% throttle run, and seems to have worn nicely. I just tighten it back and waiting to give it another run see how things go.
haha, I already bashing before reading your msg. I will check tomorrow to see what happnen, I also broke drive shaft , upgrade to steel shaft already.
I just notice I make in wrong threat, suppose to be in brushless section.
Since I am worry about heat issue, should I install this to help heat issue?
Well, like i said, breaking in the clutch is really optional. It will eventually work optimally one day, since it has to slip to protect your drivetrain...
Also, get a temp gun. If it overheats, you need to change your gearing.
I got temp gun, today I measured 160F and I stopped. , it was hot today 95F outside.
"Also, get a temp gun. If it overheats, you need to change your gearing. " <<meaning I need to slow down?
People mentions about Cable link, what is the purpose?

Lower spur = more top speed less acceleration and less torque but increase in motor temp. It requires more juice to turn the smaller spur because it has a smaller diameter. In other words lower gearing more speed and more heat.
Taller gearing gives more acceleration and torque, but less top speed, also decreases motor temp but can raise esc temp if not careful.
Taller gearing is better for bashing because it gives more punch off the line and out of cornering.
