Hello All,I just bought a PE 4x4 slash for racing off-road,What spares do I need to stock up on? Thanks..
1.bought extra rear stub axles.
I would have some extra spur gears and a few of the 10x15x4 bearings part#5119. Also part#6893 as this tends to melt when the bearring locks up.
6888x, but you'll only need one.
I would also grab an extra center diff case. They are good in case you melt a bearing and include spare seals if you need them in the future. Pick up some extra half-shafts as well. Good to have on hand at the racetrack.
Turbo in the front, groceries in the back.
definitley get 6888x i went through like 5 of the regulars in one week and since 6888x i have had no proplems BD
1 rear hub
1 bent stub axle
4 bent shock shafts
Traxxas Slash 4x4
2008 Yamaha yfz450
He shouldn't have to worry about 6888x as the new batch of PE's come with that part already installed.
If you want to save your spurs get rid of the driveshaft cover or make something to seal but even then it's not 100% reliable.
I would also look at replacing the arms with RPM as well as the front bumper. Biggest reason for the front bumper is the stock one with the upper mount can cause the front gearbox housing to break in a nose dive landing.
Slash PE & Ja-two.
A new body...
Lot's of driveshafts.
Like phil said spur gears and pinion gears above all. Without extras a tiny stone can end your night.
PLEASE do not PM me and immediately go offline :p
Thanks for the help guy's..
I have not recieved my PE slash 4x4 yet,but I have 1 another question..
am I correct it comes with 54 spur and a 13t pinion stock? Thanks..
yes its 13 and 54.
the axles are usually the first to go, and it wont be long, depending on your battery of choice and your driving style. Somebody on here said loose slippers make happy drivetrains. I agree. 11 axles so far for me but Im kinda hard on it.
I have used the center diff from day one and have not broke anything.
does anyone know the part # for the center diff case ONLY.. Thanks.
