I had some time this week to play around and make some foam tires. Why foam you ask... Well I like to race at a track in Pittston Maine and it's a asphalt oval.
Well the tires out there were just not cutting it for me so I wanted to try some different stuff.
I tried making rubber tires, but that didn't work out to hot. So I made these nice and squishy foam tires and I must say I'm pretty impressed.
I ran the tires for 2 full battery runs and there holding up good. There soft enough to not chatter and really flex on corners..
Now I know the colors are not the best but I wanted to match...
Tell me what you think.... Thanks.
Tires after 2 full battery runs.
pretty awesome. whered u get the foam? do they slide through the corners or do they have so much traction that you traction roll?

The Slash 4x4 seems a strange choice for asphalt oval racing.

They actually have really good traction.
There is a big following of onroad oval racing in Pittston Maine. These things are a blast when we get a big group and go all out.
The current tires on the market are hard to keep from spinning out on the turns at high speeds.
I'll take some video of them in action on June 6th.
It looks like they are from Foam Noodles???

Is your width different front/back, or is it just the droop?
