I would have to say a 8.5. I haven't got to run with my lipos yet.

i give it a 7 on my scale nothing is ever a 10,,, reason y, its durable, handles well, is fast enough, very fun and competitive, and simple to work on, and can go a lot of places, if you push it

body is similar to a wet napkin,,, axle studs like to bend, which today i wrecked a hundred times and didn manage to bend them!!
im goin big, then goin home

I have a PE. Even with a few bent axles and having to modify the front drive hub since parts haven't been available, I'd still give it a 10. It is a very easy truck to work on and fix. I love how it comes apart so easy. Mine has been super durable other than the few bent axles. The a-arms are always the first to break on anything I have had and these stock ones are holding strong. No bent hinge pins. I love the fact that you can jack it up and put big tires on it for a monster truck and then with about 5-10 minutes of changes, you can go back to a lower racer. 4wd. Mine has been a blast. Very good work time to drive time ratio.

After racing my friend's rtr a few times I would give it a 9. Some parts may break but the truck REALLY pulls and looks and handles great.

The RTR gets an 8 or a 9 as a basher, only a 5 or 6 as a track car. Without the PE center diff, forget about it at the track. You might as well run with the 2wds.

I give it a 9.5 , great design , lightweight , PE with clear body and NO radio .

Would have given it a ten , but the axles and thin body kept it from a 10 .

I would give it a 9. I really love the handling and durability (no issue with bent axles yet). It is really nice that the body takes most of the impact, even if it is thin.

Only downgrade is for junk getting in the driveshaft and the chassis. (easy mod to do but it would be a 10 if I didn't have to do these myself.)

I give mine a 9 because the bent axel and lack of tire choice.
I run a 11.1 3s Lipo and it is awesome. It is a PE and I already
lost 2 screws in the aluminum steering blocks. got to threadlock everything aluminum.

10 for the RTR. Most fun i've had with an RC in the last 10 years. Love the scale looks and blast to drive, simple design.

I give the PE a 7.5. I have only run it maybe 5 minutes total now, I run it on 2s and its just not very fast. I havent got it on a track yet, just did a little testing. Maybe once it hits the track it will seem faster, but I won several races against them with my bone stock 2wd...

Handling is pretty decent, its hard to really get it out of shape.

I upgraded from VXL 2wd to a PE. I wont give it a 10 (nothing is perfect) I'll go 8.99. I do love the truck but I thought the 4wd would be a bigger difference maker (but what can I expect blasting around on 3s ).

Its a GREAT product. I need to find a track and get back to my racing roots!

Well I got my PE and ran it for the first time so I thought I'd necro this thread... I give an 8.75... it pulls so much harder than my 2wd but requires a somewhat large amount of maintanance. Overall great truck!!!

Out of the box RTR, I would give it a 5, it was very middle of the road.

After breaking many of the parts that came stock on the PE, I have upgraded beyond those to a full race spec and competitive truck.

Only things that remain stock on the truck are the chassis, driveshafts, front drive hub, bearings, battery tie down, shock towers, diffs, housings.

I would give the truck a 8.5 as it sits. Still trying to get the new electronics set up correctly.

I give mine a 10. Theres no way my rusty VXL would do some of the things that this pulls off. I went off a jump probably 15-20feet in the air and came down on a pile of rocks. What broke you ask.... just a couple small tears in the body and a few scratches. drove the rest of the day no problems. LOVE THIS THING!

Well compared to my Losi DT it's a no brainer 10.
It's kinda like the HULK, the more I thrash and bash the stronger it gets.

My son and I were road jumping in the empty lot next door last weekend. I launched a little cockeyed one time and hit an oak brush sapling.
The truck landed in the top of the tree and bent it down. Then it sprung back and launched the truck like a catapult in the other direction.
It rolled, flipped and endo'ed several times before coming to a stop rubber side down.

It sat there for a moment like it was mocking the tree.
" THATS IT!!? THATS ALL YOU GOT!!? NEXT TIME IM GONNA BREAK OFF YO LIMB!!!" followed by a fierce vroom vroom sound. /story

    RTR. 8.79261

Disposable axles and poorly suspended out of the box.

Other than that I love the truk and I think that the rtr was a great package ata reasonable price.

I give my RTR a 9. I have my own track, perfect size for the Slash. Its my first 4X4 and I can't go back to 2wd And now all I have is LiPo's. I've broken the front drive hub several times, 1 Spur gear, 1 rear hub carrier, 2 bodies, 1 ESC and blew apart one motor.

But still gonna sell my other 3 Traxxas 2wd's and get a Slash PE :-)

RTR out of box 5 add sway bars, tires and center diff a solid 7.......still needs some tweaking will max out at 8-8.5

sorry but true....... to get a 9 or more the truck would be more aftermarket parts than stock

These score are based on using the truck to race on a truck not bash.

To me a 10 would be out of the box no upgrades needed.....anything short of that is not a perfect 10.

Still a heck of a lot of fun to race at the track....no argument there!

does it go to 11? LOL 10! i have yet to break the thing myself, and it only broke due to operato error as my friend who runs road cars that do 100mph couldnt handle and control the shear awesomeness of the slash 4x4 rtr... atleast that is more story and i am sticking to it!!! This truck is awesome! i have taken it to skate parks and goten more air then the skaters in the park as well as it takes a serious beating, i have rolled it, flipped it end over end, cracked 2 bodies, and yet it still comes back for more, i currently have it set up for gymkhana and it drifts and slides no problems on cement and ashphault with stock batteries. and yet still performs to par offroadm during bashing or on a small course i have set up i have 0 complaints about this truck other than it is so new its hard to find parts at the LHS but they are coming slowly!
and i will continue to support the 4x4 slash community
only issue i have had is with 6881s and the way that the stock bumper connects and transfers force to the front diff cover. that was resolved with
an rpm front bumper easy to use and set up, clean and maintain and its waterproof i have seen videos on youtube about the abuse this thing can take... to i tested it and beat the living tar out of it and it passed with flying colors, thrown off a jump into a pool. into a lake, through mud, sand, gravel standing in the back of a friends pickup and chasing the pick up with the slash! like... so far all i know is the worst enemy to a slash is a light pole and a friend that thinks he can handle a 60MPH 1/10 RC from a 100MPH 1/16RC
    4X4/sw.kit/rpm fr & rr/m.flaps/motor&esc kw club!
