Hey i was going to get a new engine but what is the biggest motor i could put?
and what would be the best air filter?
This should be able to fit in the Jato.
Joking aside you can put a .12 - .20 size engine if you want a .21 or bigger you will have to a big block conversion kit. However, an O.S.21TM will fit because it is in a small block case.
I use motorsavers air filter but it is many out there that are good.
Speed is the rate of change of distance with time.
that one in the pic fit my jato, with only a small mod
the biggest i would go would be an os 21 but you can go bigger and jclay i think we can get that to fit might need to extend the chassis a little and put some heavier springs
Jato os21tm,Slayer/revo lrp.28,yokomo gt4,jamminx2
I would suggest taming the jato first....They scream a little more in real life than you may think !!
I think a 3.3 is large enough. Are you going to add wings and fly?
Amen brother. This thing is brutal with good tuning, and just plain FAST with a safe, fat tune!Originally Posted by nitrofool

First what engine engine do you have 2.5 or 3.3 if you have 2.5 try the 3.3 if you have a 3.3 and you tuned it right and your not happy then how much do you want to spend and how fast do you want to go sky is the limit .
Drive It Like You Hate It .
i have a 3.3. and i want i to almmost fly jus what would be the best motor that would fit in it?Originally Posted by Jurgen
Max power at 40,000rpm.I like it but for a different vehicle like a mugen mrx4.One wreck in a jato and a cracked block = 500+bucks down the drain.A good find though I like it alot.
i am looking for a good street tire for my jato.
A engine that novarossi makes is a .15 like the 2.5 but should outperform a 3.3 any day of the week, forget the exact name...look it up on amainhobbies. And the Picco 12 red dots are awsome mills(Mine required no modification minus the flywheel nut)
R/C is expensive...
I have shoved a LRP .28 truggy bump start motor in my old Jato using the New Era chassis/kit, Revo 38t spur and Axial 22t clutch bell. How fast it got up to speed was just ridiculous but I don't think it was too much faster (if any) than the 3.3. Not because I ran out of throttle as I could hardly go past half way but was rather due to aerodynamics of the Jato. At speed of anything above (even approaching) 65Mph jato wants to be more of a kite than a truck. It would always just peel the front wheels off the blacktop and then it would just launch into the air. I managed to do so much damage just from all those high speed tumbles. Also I think a heavier engine in the back did nothing to help the balance of the truck.
I honestly do not recommend going too big of an engine in a Jato. Something like a OS 21TM, modded 3.3 (what I have now) or a OS 18TZ (bump start only) will do very nicely.
BASH. BREAK. FIX. REPEAT. ALWAYS REPEAT.
just do what we used to do in the old days, tip the nitro can. 40-50% should do
What performance mods are you guys doing to the 3.3?
to: lawman1 i just posted about street tires for a jato. under ,new tires
