Although I am a "new guy", I believe this will be helpfull to many others also. I have a RTR 4x4 and MANY spare parts, tools, etc, etc on order. I would like to get a tool box and was wondering what ideas, manufacturers (Plano fishing tackle boxes ??) model #'s of tool boxes your using (Plano 777, etc, etc). Any ideas / insight would be helpfull. It seems it would be difficult to purchase something and make the perfect choice the first time around being that I'm new to the hobby. I wouldn't want to spend $xx and find out that something else would have been a much better option. Model #'s and stores where you guys buy your stuff would be very helpfull. Here's a few links to the direction I was looking at going. Like everything else, I'm sure there are a million ways you could go. Thanks in advance !!!
Spending money then finding a better option is all part of this hobby, LOL Those could work, its just all about personal choice. Just look at what you need to put in it and go from there, and be sure to look at several. Also check out Lowes and Home Depot, they have bigger "tool type storage" boxes that may be better suited for what you need.
Heres mine.. People mess with me about the small one that holds all the tools, UNTIL they need to borrow something they dont have! And some shots of it all packed up and ready to go to the track tomorrow. All I have to grab is the roller and the cars I am taking that day!
Welcome to Traxxas.com Yes, EVERYONE here IS a Pro Racer.... [/sarcasm]
I second the Lift-n-Lok by PDY Systems. They're a little pricey but I love mine. I have almost all my surface gear in there and all my r/c air gear in there as well (minus radios). If I only did one or the other, I could carry everything in that one box easily. It's rugged and I think it's worth the money. I had a Planco tackle box that was pretty good and all the organizers are nice but it wasn't big enough for me. I still use it for soldering gear for electronics projects and carrying my nicer DMM but that just stays at home now. With the Lift-n-Lok, I can carry all my batteries and chargers as well. If I ever get out of the air scene, I'm sure it will fit just about everything else pretty easily as well that I have to carry in another box.
THANKS for the reply's guys, keep 'em coming. Pictures and product links are great. I'm sure after I see some more examples / set-ups I'll have a good place to start from.
those are all nice tool boxe's , personally for my rc stuff i just grabbed a nice big toolbox at k mart i believe a few years ago and it has been perfect for my needs , it cost me like $25 or less and can hold allot. You can laways check kmart , walmart , liquidators or homedepot , even sears.
IF YOU CANT FIX IT DONT BUY IT !

Condor414 That Is A Cool Box Where Did You Get It
Those are great if you can transport it... they don't fit well in a car. PS Lowes carries those as well.Originally Posted by condor414

Home Depot has them as well. Any big store that sells tools and hardware should carry them.Originally Posted by DTRAX
Yeah I guess if you have a car they could be a pain. I have a 1/2 ton and mini van so it's not a problem to fit it in.
