Slash 4x4 - 2.8 Trenchers
Covertly obtained my wife's opinion on "cute" lids, bought one, and painted it a scheme I knew she'd like... took her out to pick decals and then for her first pavement bash today. Even though I put on the correct RPM bumper/skid plate up front after the photo shoot, it's all scrapes and bruises now! Definitely a good time.

So I guess after having found myself bitten by this esteemed hobby about half a year back, much to the despair of my wallet, I should make an attempt at introducing my own underwhelming ride to the world, so to speak!
It started as a 1/10th scale Rally, but between my choice of bumpers, tires, body and typically doing most of my driving on a gravel yard, I'd say it probably qualifies more as an LCG Slash 4x4 by now.
There's not really anything all that custom per se involved - just pre-existing parts since I generally lack the skill, tools and precision to do all that much specialised work on my own. At most I had to cut off a part of the rear arm guards because their stock form collided with the LCG chassis and prevented suspension action from taking place. Otherwise it's the basic RPM parts, MIP CVDs, Pro-Line trenchers... GPM shocks I guess is a bit different (they're the alternative my preferred "local" store had) and light system from RC-Lights.
I kind of want to put a stronger motor and ESC in there when money allows - leaning towards Castle Creations because my brother is looking to get an HPI WR8 Flux which uses a re-branded castle system and both vehicles using Castle Link for configuration would be convenient. I haven't decided on what though because there seems to be about as many opinions on which motor/ESC combo to use as there are people with swapped out motors and ESCs and I haven't quite wrapped my head around all the particulars yet!
( and I do apologise for all the text - I appear to have this problem of being unnecessarily verbose ;| )

First paint job on an RC body... not bad if I say so, but there are a few mistakes you might not see in the pics.
Picked up a set 17mm premounted tires off ebay for just $25! I also just installed my MIP 17mm kit so once the loctite on that dries, I'm off to try them out.

New to the forums. Just wanted to post up and say hello with my new addiction!
Bought a slash 4x4 ultimate and will be learning the ropes at a local hobby town usa track.
Since i do alot of night driving ( work late ) the first mod i did was lighting.
I used a single LED flashlight that i had gutted. This was a mock up to see how durable it would be. And well... it lasted about 30 seconds until i hit a pole at the local playground. but it did however help extremely well in navigation and orientation.
So i removed the shoddy mockup and went a little further last night with 6 leds(flashs) from cellphones. And mounted it properly on the inside of the body. I used an ethernet jack/rj45 connector as a quick connect between frame and body. Here is an outside result. If i get enough attention/likes i can explain and get more pictures of the internal workings. I plan on sealing it off and painting the surrounding black so there is no light leak under the body.
Hope you like it!
Heres how it looks under the hood after i added taillights last night.
So after a few months of pseudo-SUV Slash 4x4 action, I found myself bitten by the baja bug.
Still the same internals, but I'm hoping to put a Castle Sidewinder 8th combo in there eventually.
Here is my Slash 4x4 RTR, it is 5 weeks old. I have just added heat sink//fan new trenchers, 2 and 3s lipo's, and fixed a few busted pieces.
This is a picture of the new Parma 55 baja body that I painted yesterday. This is my first paint job ever. Pretty pleased.
