    17mm Spline vs Hex

    Hey Folks
This is a total noob question but I couldn't find an absolute answer for it. I have the brushless E-Revo which has the 17mm spline hubs and wheels. Most after market wheels are 17mm hex. Is there an adapter, or replacement hub that I need to fit those wheels onto the e-revo?

Someone said you could put them straight on, but wouldn't the spline strip the hex shape inside the wheel?

    Thanks for your help.

You could probably cut off the splines on the wheels.

the aftermarket 17mm wheel will fit fine with the traxxas 17mm hexes, its the traxxas wheels dont fit into an aftermarket 17mm hexes ( traxxas wheels have the spline inside and can only be use for traxxas spline 17mm hex)
humay has left the building, peace.

The splined 17mm hex is just a section in the center of each of the 6 sided hex that is cut away. All 17mm wheels will fit the trx splined 17mm hex without fear of stripping the wheel.
The splined 17mm trx wheel however, will only fit the trx splined hex and not the smooth 17mm hex.
    No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.

you could also get the hpp-germany hexes and they will fit all wheels and they remove the wheel slop too
