But it's not the first time I do that.

Do your differentials rotate around the wheel axles or do they fit tight enough in the bulkhead to keep this from happening? It doesn't appear you have anything in place to keep this from happening like the stock differentials.

Very nice maxx I will be copying some of your concepts. I have successfully mounted the CC 1717-1580KV on the e maxx transmission and am looking to beef up the drive train.

    Thanks,

I have successfully mounted the CC 1717-1580KV on the e maxx transmission
I'm in the same process! But for me, I can't beef anything else. ( want to keep traxxas shaft as it'll hold up with that set-up)
Show me pics of your monting setup.
I bought another Gorilla single motor mount ( not receved it yet) and I'll drill it to fit 4mm screwsof the 1717.
I have a dilemma, as I read in a few forum, 1717 seem to want heavier ride to perform at is best. I may try my 1520 before. With the 1717, I'll have to buy Cen GST wheel, tire and 23mm hex as they are a lot heavier. The 1717 will love it I thing.
Right now, my maxx weight 12,5 pound with 6s lipo.

1 thing for sure, the kids will LOVE to be pull around with that futur beast.

    Nice to see ya Snoop!
Do you have another set of those spacer that you can get rid of?

Any mod to your since your last post Snoop?

I bought a charger and power supply used, I was tired to be limitted to 4s 1C charge limit of the ICE charger.

Its a 550W supply with Dual 17amp rails - Each rail is wired to a separate deans connection.
Briang's mod iwas done by previous owner to add a slight load to on the 5v rail to stabilize the voltage.

Now I'll be able to charge my 2 * 3s pack a single 6s ( just need to make balance harness)

I love when my thead is back to the top by someone else, Keep posting guys!!!!

I'll show you the mod as they come.

    Hey Fred
My Maxx is still in bits ... (I made a few 775 motor mounts and didn't assemble my Maxx again)

I'm expecting a 6082 T6 round stock tomorrow so I can start making more of the collars as well as other parts
I'm also designing a new front collar for the LST diff

Here are the pictures of the CC 1717-1580KV mounted on the emaxx. I put a Velineon next to it for size comparison. Tried to show where I had to take the fins off the motor with a dremel but that does not show up real well. With the stock single motor mount it has very limited gearing. Currently I have 22 pinion and 68 spur. Any combination (spur teeth # + pinion teeth #) with 90 to ~94 teeth 32P will work. Of course the mounting plate hole and the slot had to be drilled and dremeled to 4mm so the motor could be mounted. I not looking for a speed deamon, just something that beats my son's stampede and will not break or overheat every time I take it out. I have the LST2 differnentials, RPM arms (true track), FLM chassis and aluminum bulks, I will be adding. Already have the FLM shock towers and big bore shocks with upgraded springs. Like Fred we spend a lot of time running in the snow.

Nicely done but I doubt the motor plate will hold the weight of the motor when jumping.
You can put a kind of brace betwen the rear of the motor and frame to prevent exces of flex resulting in a stripping spur since you're on a .8 mod. ( Change that for mod1.)
Mine will be done with the gorilla single motor mount.

I received all the parts and completed the mods which included FLM chassis, LST2 diffs, RPM Arms and true track, aluminum bulkheads and LST2 CVD. The drive train seems to be bullet proof. Here are some photos:

Mock up of the LST2 diffs and CVD

The RPM true tracks with the 17mm hub

RPM true track with 15 x 24 x 5 bearing mounted as close to possible to the inside, so the LST2 CVD would work.

    Pictures of the finished product

Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas, I have shamefully copied the concepts, to build a fun and reliable e maxx.

BTW I didn't install nine yet. I'll wait the end of winter.

I ran a full 6s pack on a beach in hot weather ( 34 celcius) and everything was just warm. I don't expect my medusa 2000kv to take this kind of weather.

Now I will be able to pull the kids with it this summer!

I'm amazed you managed to fit the motor, sounds like a setup if the temps are low like that- what kind of runtime did you get?

It was very easy for me, the dificult part was to find a second Gorilla motor mount and enlarge to accept 4mm screw and 25t pinion but plan to enlarge the slot a little more to accept a pinion up to 28t-29t.

Around 30 min but my lcv is set for 3.4v and with the number of people on the beach I was not able to do wot pass very often.

I'm glad I didn't sell any of my motor with the motor price growing liks this. ( cost of Neodymium )

Full speed hit with a sidewalk ( 40-45 mph) Didn't BROKE anything but... CC 1717 is heavy.
It was my baddest crash until now.
My girlfreind saw the crash and lipo flying and said: I warrenty you it's in 100 peices!!!
I told her : No, no, it's nothing, the lipo came loose. ( But I was hoping she wasn't right!!!)

    The massive hit result.
The lipo hit the slipper and trans ( to add to the crash )
I understand why the chassy bent a little only where the trans is mount!!
6s lipo was throw 30 feet away. ( 4 big ziptie snap )

ABSOLUTELY no other dommage done but I don't like strip down my maxx to acces the chassy.

Don't have the time for now but mainly cause the truck work VERY well like this!
And I don't want to reach the diff until I HAVE TOO.
But I have a set laying around to do the mod.

    With normal tire off corse,

Poxpox, fast run will be there soon.
I have an event here with some Baja and a french forum member over Ue, RCM, CentralMaxx, RecoPower: Gilou.

not sure if i am following this right. i already have the traxxas steel drive shafts both center and four corners. i did the lst2 diff and replace the drive 8mm drive cup on the centers and replace the output drive cups with an hpi model that is a little longer. i used the traxxas wheel axles by cutting off the threaded part for the diff. i keep throwing out the right rear drive shaft. am i using the wrong shafts?
    Thanks

I kept the plastic shaft and never got prob!
I replace them often but they are cheap and I can replace few broke one with 1 new one.
But I run my MMM CC1717 with 80% of PUNCH CONTROL and still have to be gentle with the trottle
