    Slash VXL - 16/83 - maxamps 7.4 8000mah

Too slow! It has great acceleration, but it is going full speed after about 10 feet, maybe less.

Thankfully this battery is for my jumping pede.

Because it isn't supposed to be running the 2s. I just ran it in the slash today so that my two friends wouldn't break the truck. The slash usually has a 3s 8000 which is insane with that gearing. Can't even get anywhere near top speed before wind takes over.

I was just shocked at how much slower a 7.4 is. I expected more. The up side is they didn't crash it too bad.

Yea i didnt know there was any difference between the 7.4 and the 8.4. And man let me tell you its way faster. I fried the stock motor, i got a formula 15t brushed. The guys at the LHS told me that was there best brushed motor. So far so good. also when to the 19t pinion gear. Lot more torque.

The 8.4 could be a NimH battery.

How are the motor temperatures with that gearing?

Your batteries are fine, the gears need changed if you don't want to top out after ten feet.
