    man.

back to my 21TM break'n, it's was hot enough yesterday so i stopped
at the 2nd tank as the outside temp rises to F85. Today it went ugly cold
it's now F44 & dropping ( that's desert extreme climate ).. but it was on my side this i completed the whole
break'n process, i even i added a sixth tank just to make sure it done the correct way.

i have to say that starting the engine is difficult with me & i really don't know why although i'm warming the engine with a dryer first.

another q revonitro here, when should it starts wheelie ?
it didn't do so with me. maybe i should wait for like after a 1/2 gallon ?
or just tight the slipper clutch at 1 1/2 turn ?
Two turns is a lot of slippage. I think most run 1/2 or 1/4 turn with stock engine. So you are 1 1/2 full turns out over stock + geared up to 2.0:1 from stock 2:25:1. You asking a lot, even from the TM, even a .26-.28.

After a gallon, it will probably stand up at 2 turns, but I would go 1 1/2, and then 1 1/4 turns out. The difference in power to the ground will be huge.

Hope you got your Desert dune climbing shoes on. Gonna flip on your lid a lot.

i noticed that the carb arm throttle with the .21TM intact with the throttle
spring like i tried to show in the pic's below..
is there's any way to re position that connected to the carb boot to avoid
it's contact with the spring ? that spring might damage it by the time..

I think you can loosen the screw that is opposite of were your linkage hooks up and rotate the whole assembly.

there is a set screw that attaches to the slides / barrel and you can rotate the position of the arm, allen head

though the idea of loosen up the carb and rotate it would be the better option.

    (1) loose the set screw:
    (2) rotate the ball link clockwise to the position you want, then tight back the set screw.

thanks all guys for the help.. you too RC Crazy for the detailed diagram..
i just noticed that i have to remove the ez start motor to reach that
set screw.. so as it's sunny warm today i didn't want to waste anytime ..
zip tie would temporary solve it till later
it will add some extra resistance to throttle but it's working

No, they don't fit each other! the TRX is little bigger than OS. do you still have your toasted 3.3? take it out & try on 21TM. you will found out.
    OS's I.D. is 6mm; TRX's I.D. is 7mm.

The Traxxas one is a little longer, and has a lip on the back so it doesn't slide on as far, but will work just fine for half the price.

hay revonitro & anybody got .21TM installed.....these days it started to becomes over warm here, so i'm some kind worry as the engine's temp reaching 250F so i turned it off.

    it's only 27 tanks so far ( i'm counting tanks this time ) & i'm on megatech
    cold glow plugs ( still didn't try the LC4 ). what's your opinion ??

try the os glow plugs, you can run those alot more richer than megatech plugs, increase your fuel% to 33%.oddonnel is good for high temps,my truck stay around 190 to 205 with back2back runs.

yeh, maybe cahnging into LC4 plugs by o.s would help.
i doubt if there's a 33% fuel availbe here, but if so , isn't high nitro increases
    the engine temp ?
as i know, the cold glow plugs made for high nitro to lower the rising temp.

what I know is, clod plug is for big blocks & hot plug is for smaller engine. I use hot - mid on all my 18tm & 3.3s, and cold on 28RR & 30VG.

    DJ,

I would try the LC4 or A5. I don't know anything about the megatech plugs. Hotter or colder really has nothing to do with engine size.

I run P6 Hot and P7 Med in both of my Picco .12 and .21 enignes with 30%. I can't even get them to run above 210-220 at this point without wrapping the head in foil.

Also, 250% won't hurt that .21TM. I ran my old .18TM up to 280% no problem. 260% may be the sweet spot.

i believe that cold plugs made for the highest nitro/hotter places , i tested this
    with the 3.3 last summer.
the strange thing that manufacturer doesn't say much about this, the only info released is that cold plugs made for high nitro.
... man you're at a very cold ( nice ) place , i doubt that any of your engines
will reach 250F... your engines always shaking cold

i just read what tower info web says about A5 plug because i don't know anything about & i found that the R5 is much cooler than all of them..

I guess it's going to be my 1st choice next time.. adding to the wish list is one the way ( but i'm not sure if it's
going to fit the engine because it looks very small with less threads on ??? )

it's very relieving to know that you run those engines up to 280
that's give me a space of having comfort till i get the R5

    Thanks guys

i'm almost very sure that no one tried the R5 before because it's the most
coolest plug by O.S but do you guys think it will fit ? it looks having less
threads than the others although it looks simillar to the A5:

    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCB30&P=V
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCB29&P=V

    LC4:

or is it just a tricky looking pictures

I have tried them both. It won't hurt anything to pick up one of each. I liked the A5 better. Got a good dead on tune with lower temps. At about a gallon temps dropped and I went back to the LC3 or 4.

thanks for the confirmation about hooking those plugs. i'll try the the A5&R5 also, they should be more suitable for the hot climate here.. specially the R5

looks like that LC4 didn't change anything about the heat issue, i tested it
at outside temp of mid 70's with body. the heat recorded 276F

this means that the engine will not survive next few days. i also think
that the R5 may also won't be any help to use.

i'm thinking to go and test modified fuel tomorrow if it hits beyond 280

Sorry to hear the the OS is giving you some problems. What kind of fuel are you running in it now?

sidwinder 20% . last year the stock 3.3 suffers from the same and i ended
with modified fuel/or gold glow plug to freez it down.
