    Rustler gear ratio

Hi i am converting my bandit to a rustler and i am trying to find a better gear ratio i am using a Team Orion Method R 19x2 motor driving hpi 2.2 mesh wheels and i am running proline road hawgs and i was wondering what the best gear ratio would be for it to give it higher top speed , also my friend is running a tamiya tz in a traxxas rustler and his is realy quick and he is running a 23 tooth pinion and the stock spur and my motor has the same rpm so should i just use the same ratio ?

I'd try a 17-tooth pinion with the stock spur gear.

A good rule of thumb for a starting point is to subtract two from the number of turns the motor is (for 540 modified motors).
