where can you get that paint that they put on real cars that changes colors at different angles an different lighting? for expampe, bright is green, dark is purple. i have seen that on an rc car before. if you cant just normally apply it, how is the process done?
WARNING:exposure to nitro can lead to drain bamage
Spaz Stix makes color change paint:
I've never used it, but Tower's notes mention this:
Sprays out of can clear in color, the more coats applied-the more intense the effect

im doin my next car in one of the spaz stix color changing paints, guy at the HS said his buddy used it on a car and it looks cool, im gonna get a skyline body and do it
I have used it and it does spray almost clear and doesn't show until backed. I have recently had problems with the paint flaking in high impact crashes.I have also seen posts from other people having the same problem. You will want to sand your body with some 1000 grit as it will make it hold much better.I used it on my tmaxx and i bash it pretty hard so depending on how you run your jato you may have better luck.Just wanted to let you know before you spend your money that there is a good chance it will flake off on you.

I've used all of the Spazstix color-change paints. I like the red/purple/blue the best. I haven't had much problem flaking, but it has happened. I may have gotten lazy prepping that particular body though. The others have hung in there pretty well.
Try some, it's cool looking. I back it with gloss black. You don't necessarily have to use the Spazstix backer.
Faskolor makes a couple of color changing paints. I have used the pearls and flourescent paints with great success but I haven't used the color changing paints.

That stuff is amazing!! I didn't think that was even possible!!
All the cool people have signatures.
that is very cool
thats the bottom line because i said so
I just ordered my mirror chrome paint. I hope mine comes out lookin at good as the picture lol
does anyone have any pics of the spaz stick stuff on their body?
Pics don't do justice to color-changing paint. You can only catch one moment in time with a camera, therefore missing the color changing part completely.
I have some on the rear of this one..
That body is still in service after about 6 months of racing and bashing it.
The paint has not flaked off.
wwwwwwwwwoooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww i like that
good from far, but far from good
Thanks. I like the way that one turned out.
Here's another one with the Spazstix Green to purple color change in the rear. I gave this body to a good friend of mine in Texas when I went out there for Nitro Madness..
I know duplicolor makes a tri-stage (base/color/clear) found at any parts store, but I dont know how well it works on lexan. for anyone who is interested, here are some pics of my 96 mystic cobra, the first and one of the very few production cars to offer the color change.
I shot the rest of my SpazStix red/purple/blue color changing paint on a buggy body for a friend of mine. He's entering it in the State finals and wanted to look good. I know it's not a JATO body, but I thought I'd bump the thread because I got a good shot of the color changing in the light.
Check this out...
