The Emaxx has had three bodys in 5 years, the original F-150, the Proline Hummer and the current f-650. I definitely liked the first in blue, the Hummer has been the hardest. The f-650 black and red I liked when it was new, but hiking in the mountains, bumps and scratches are very common. For some reason, probably without much sense, the Hummer seemed more resistant.

Hi,on that journey a friend come with me and another RC with him. A Summit.

The cold and wind conditions were very severe, but the strength and enthusiasm to come up.. they could all.

#115 Trail to Beriain mountain and Sandonato shelter.

we must arrive at the top right of the image, the climb is really tough.

The first part is easy and goes with this incredible trail, but is often lost and we climb up the steepest path.
One of the great qualities of the summit, he can overcome steepest slope without tipping over due to its longer chassis.

The wind rocks on this hillside and has bursts above 90 km/h, forcing us to make continuous small steps left and right for balance.

    -
    A section of increasing difficulty

We reached the top with fog and with all our warm clothes on. Problems with my "Summit" colleague:
has forgotten the thick winter gloves in the parking lot and walk sharing mine every few minutes.

We managed to light a fire in the small shelter (and fill it with tons of smoke ....) but we can take away the cold.
My Emaxx makes an intermittent breakdown in definitely at only 20 meters from the shelter.
The On/Off switch on the receiver pack fails and forces me to improvise a repair with two straight wires and duct tape.

We left the shelter. Must have Absolute security in our abilities and the RC to pass this section.
we chose the high path because it seems.. safer?

Me,my dog Lyra and my colleague Ivan on the descent of the slope.

    Ivan and his Summit.

For the 116 mountain trek, I go with my 14 year old son to an area in the Pyrenees, unknown,
about 150 miles east of my house. Rigelo Valley.
There will be snow but do not know under what conditions are.
Do not take with us crampons or ice ax, so I think it will be a simple path of exploration.
An excellent chance to show the new f-650 body.

116 snow trail . Rigelo Valley.

120 Panoramic around the valley, under Aspe Peak
    http://rc-hiking.com/riguelo/riguelo_000pan.jpg

We need to cross this stream, there is ice on the river rocks, but finally got through to the other side

Slowly we are moving towards the mountain pass. At the bottom left.

Gr-11 signals, long distance footpath that crosses along 500 miles, the Pyrenees mountain range .
To right, mountain pass of Santa Magdalene, between Lecherines Peaks.

Easy, but steep climb until the first snow plates.

Skis or snowshoes? I choose Emaxx

Unfortunately we could not continue much beyond this area
The shadow zone was completely frozen and it was dangerous to walk without proper equipment.
The emaxx however, it could run on ice

    I love the new body

You can use almost any standard brush
Here's an Associated Reedy Quasar Brush, You only need to solder them on as they don't have eyelet

Thanks, Snoopmaxx, I believed that each electric motor, had a specific brushes ( different sizes and types). I will try these you say.

#117 winter trail. Aizkorri VI. -1/22/2011-

Well, in this winter mountain hike(approx. 16 F at top) also comes with me my son, Ivan and his wife, and a Summit.
It is a path of 700 m height gain I've made several times in training mode,
but in winter presents a more difficult and driving is completely different.

Ivan and his Summit at the beginning of the trail through the forest, before reaching the level of rime isotherm.
We can see from the rear of Summit two Lipo voltage checker that display permanently V cells balance.
This spares a disadvantaging lipo cut-off, or an annoying buzzer.

Leaving the forest, well below 0C

The rime have been very intense in this opened mountain pass,
we have to get all the winter clothes to protect us.

Looking for the easiest route ? go!

And gaining a little height. If we have to change batteries here, you'd better know how to do it fast or do it with thick gloves.

Another meet, ice fog and really slippery ground.

    -

    -
    The Aizkorri top.

Returning to the starting point, two hours even on the way to go.

    # 118 trail. Baquedano -> Urederra -> 19 Km.

Come with me on this excursion, Ivan and his Summit.
In fact is linking two previous trips, which are marked on the map.
We follow the river "Urederra" to its source and end later rising to cliffs known by the name of Pilate's Balcony
Finally an easy excursion, no snow, no cold, no fog...

Is a long path to an RC but have no difficulty.
Northern Spain, province of Navarra : Baquedano -> Urederra -> 19 Km

The trail follows the river bed, is common to find a dark mud and emerald reflexes in the water.

My Emaxx with stock wheels and tires [146 mm] ,excellent in this terrain.
Currently using a [175 mm] Trencher

    -

    looking for a feasible path

Leaving down the river, we head to the rock ledge near the wall

Trail # 119 Panticosa ski resort -> Brazato lake.

Excess powder snow at higher altitudes, made the trip lasted a little longer than usual,
    but worth the effort.

This is what you see from the trail, 3000 m peaks

    -
At first it was common to see ice on the trail, a good soil for my Emaxx.

Leaving the forest, they begin the toughest climbs, with some difficulty, the emaxx was sliding quite

    After an hour's drive

Every time sinks deeper, and finally I leave without achieving the goal, but.. was there really a goal?

Back to the ice, much better !!

    End of #119 RC-mountain trek.

    rc-hiking 120 . Oroel Mountain (II)

A walk in the mountains, about three or four hours driving my Emaxx, rising 711 meters, almost all on the north side.
On this mountain, is to highlight the sudden change on the ground and the landscape that happens to pass from the north side to south side.

From the parking lot we see two peaks, West and East, to achieve. In one of them (East peak) is a huge metal cross

Entire path, after 10 minutes of parking, is covered with snow and ice. At times, especially going down, dangerous.

The trail is not lost, just follow the boars ..
The grip of these modified tires , is excellent. Both for ice screw and asymmetric bands

As we go up there is more snow, even in the forest

    -

    -
Out of the woods, we are about to enter south side.

This is the south side, and we can guess the cross in the first peak.

Jaca's population, of almost 1000 meters below

    The first peak

    [ .. 120 trail ]

On the south side we found plenty of mud, some have raised with us.

    from the top west.

    -

Down, looking for unique path on the north side

at noon the snow melts and despite the cross marks in the tracks, the grip is not very good

Again in northern face, is evident.

    121 Trail to Kartxela mountain.

Another route of mixed dirt and snow , to a peak of the western Pyrenees.
Intense cold, but nice for hiking. Some remnants of soft snow on the highest trail kept me from reaching the top.
However, the ascent up the slope is very interesting and fun

The goal marked in the background with long rocky slope.

Partial view of the path to the Kartxela mountain

    near the mountain col

frozen grass at this altitude. in the background, the stony diagonal

Serious problems in this area to avoid the snow, I had to abandon the climb at the fourth attempt, quite tired.
    .

the descent is not dangerous, but should be done with caution

How to clean the Emaxx?. Is very easy and cheap.

yes, I use a dog leash to secure it when it is impossible to stop a fall down the slope. especially on the descents, gives a lot of security and allows much more risk maneuvers. It is expandable up to 5 meters.
here can be seen in the rear

Trail N. 124 . Highest mountain in my county.

What, again to the same place? Yes ,why not.
Is a beautiful mountain trail in a place that seems made specifically for the wheels of RC monster trucks.
rocks, mud, forest, alpine meadows and magnificent views from the highest mountain in my county.
So, why not raise it again?

St.Adrian natural cave, an old Roman causeway passes through here.

red flags marking a mountain running race.

Always publish a photo of this climb, is one of my favorites.

One of the steps that the Emaxx will not be able to pass. Will need my help.

in the background -middle- the highest peak, I could only raise it once. Is difficult but not impossible

    My dog Lyra..

    We're on top, antenna down!

Beautiful stretch in a forest of beech, oak and chestnut trees

    The descent

Setup: 11/72, 2 Integy 45T, 9.6V, 21.000 mah total, Big Bore shocks at 1b mount , 0.5 cm preload, Integy red springs (hard), Trencher 175 mm , Mip Cvd, Rpm Arms.
