1. ## Charge Time Formula

What is the formula to figure out charge times? I have two packs and currently use a timed charger that can trickle. But I want to make sure I do not overcharge them.

2. The above is true

also if you charger does not have meter, and it has for example a max out of 4 amps or 4000 ma
then it would take .5 hours to charge a 2000 mah pack (or 2 amp)

I did not get this info from a RC person but an electronics instructor, if this does not hold true with sub-c someone please correct me because batteries are to expensive to burn.

(the assumption is made that the pack is dischrged and the little charge it has is disippated into heat in the charging process)

3. from what reniorbud said i would think 1 amp is 1000mah. am i right? because renoirbud said 4 amps is 4000mah and then 2000mah is 2 amps.

so what ur saying is that 1500 mah battery pack would
take 15 minutes to charge on a 4.5 amp rate charger??
cause it would take 30 min on a 3 amp charge and 15 min
in a 4.5 amp charge...(took me 10 min to calculate )

but my charger charges a 1500 mah in 25-30 min....

no that is not what i meant

a 4.5 amp charger puts out 4500 ma per hour there fore it would take 20 min to charge a 1500 mah pack

(1500/4500*60)

Even simpler EX. a 3000 mah pack takes an hour to charge on a three amp charger

6. 20 min...? how'd i get 15?? o well i was close

7. I am trying to figure out how long to trickle charge my packs.....

8. Same math applies

What charger are you using?

What battery r you charging?

9. Your have to charge a Battery at capacity +40% to fully charge.
ie: Charge a 1500 at 1.5a for 1 hour 24 mins, 3.0a for 42mins, 6.0a for 21mins, etc.
To trickle charge a 1500, you have to charge at C/10 (150ma) for 14 hours.

On most consumer rechargable batteries, the charging instructions on the battery will say charge at 1/10 of capacity for 14-16 hours.
