What voltage does a glow plug use?
Please could anyone let me know what voltage a glow plug requires. The EZ start uses a 7.2V source but i am not sure if the EZ start delivers the full 7.2V to the glow plug. Maybye it is stepped down somehow?. The reason for asking is that i am considering using a cordless drill to turn over the engine but leaving just the EZ start powering the glow plug without the EZ start motor. This might just melt the plug. Any suggestions please.
Nah a glow plug only requires 1.5v the rest of the 7.2v s for the startter
Dude lay off the 60 percent!
May I ask how you are going to hold the truck and start it at the same time? I mean a power drill in one hand and the EZ start Button in the other it looks like it would be hard. Not to mention haveing to carry the drill and EZ start battery unit at the same time.
I would do away with the EZ start altogether and just get a good locking plug heater. And a Yank Elemanator if you want to go that way. I prefer a pull starter. With it all you need to carry is the plug heater..
Just a thought.
