Saying that it works with most esc's and is a drop in for the slash I'm assuming it's a 2-pole. Its probably not anymore impressive than the velinion
Convert it to a 2wd slash!!
Bingo, that's why there so easy to pry off. But if that makes you uncomfortable a pinion puller should do the job nicely.
That's why I'm always scared to buy used. You could take the motor apart and see what went bad, maybe you won't have to replace the whole motor.
Check out the tapatalk app for your iPad, it makes posting pics a breeze.
I've pried more than one off with a screwdriver before and have never had any repercussions from it. They slide off surprisingly easy, all that's holding them in place is a tiny grub screw.
Bust the scuba gear out and go get it!! Lol. If you were to find it my guess is that it would still work.
You can pry the pinion gear off the motor with a flathead screwdriver.
If you don't mind could you tell us how you shaped the metal for the body? It looks really good!!
Well, you're not gonna get close with what you've got. Some kind of a 1/8 scale system, a mamba monster 2650kv and 6s lipo should do it. And lots of aero work, it'll be hard keeping the front end on...
There's plenty of YouTube videos showing how to dye plastic Rc parts, it's a really simple process.
No benefit at all, the proline trans does have a sealed diff though. But you can buy an aftermarket one much cheaper than you can buy the pl trans.
Or you could dye the chassis black, might be cheaper than ordering the parts individually
How fast do you wanna go? Lol. I'd start out with 23/86, temps should be good with that. That should put you around 45-50 mph top speed. For speed runs I've gone as low as 28/76, and gotten 64 mph....
Maybe you could buy a cheap case for your phone and put some Velcro on it and wherever you want it on the transmitter
Most sc truck bodies fit flush with the nerf bars, so any body that's narrower you would need to remove the nerf bars or narrow the chassis. Just something to think about.
My bad, I didn't think the stock trans case was quite big enough to fit a 1/8 motor.
A 1/8 system won't just drop in a slash, but it can be done. Something like the mamba max pro with the 2400kv motor would be more ideal for your project. You could easily run 3s with that, anything...
6s?!?! I hope that was a typo. That's 1/8 system territory! That 5700kv motor would would be toast on 6s. I don't even know if a mamba monster would take 6s all day long, it might though.
The stock 16/90 gearing should be fine. 14/86 would give you cooler temps and a little longer run time.
Here it is, was on the urc forums.
It will just leak out over time. There is a diy on here somewhere on how to seal a stock diff, or there are some aftermarket sealed duffs.
The sidewinder sct edition with the 3800kv is definitely the better option for our heavy trucks, the 5700kv will heat up way too fast. You can find them on eBay for around $100 shipped.
There are lots of YouTube videos showing how to mount and unmount Rc tires, and taping is where you put tape on the inside of the tire to keep it from ballooning.
