Very nice results. Congrats!
Nice build. Keep up the good work!
Changing your gearing is the easiest cheapest way to upgrade.
The xl5 esc will work but the 550 size can is likely too big to fit.
That would work. Watch some videos on you tube to learn how. Soldering for plumbing is more difficult than wiring for me.
It is a quiet forum, has been for years. I need to put my 4tec back together. I tried another road car for a while but I don't like it as much as my 4tec. My last wreck was carnage (okay my last few...
Lot's of discussion and some cool pics here. How about some videos of these speeds in a merv?
It's toast. Dispose of it properly.
Yes, you should solder the bullet connectors. Its easy to do. Mine came with directions. My iron is 150 and 230w (radio shack). I'd be surprised if a 40w could do much more than a little wire. I had...
Did the housing get broken and the bearing come out? It looks like the edge of the housing is missing in the picture but it may be the angle of the picture.
I was thinking the same thing. Give it another shot. If you can't get it on camera at least get the gps on it. I got up to 58mph at least beat that!
What's the scoop with your 4tec? Did you fix it or arre you just driving other things?
You're so right. I'm not sure why I'm expecting to go so fast in this car. As you stated, it's just not designed for that. Another platform is the key. I've been looking but haven't found the right...
I'm tempted to do that now but I just got the last part I need. My chassis is busted so I have to take it ALL apart. I should have just used the money for/from parts on another car. I could keep the...
I emailed castle 3 times about the same thing to no avail. All I get is an auto response. Makes me appreciate Traxxas that much more.
If you really want to go fast (speed runs) get a lower kv motor and gear it high. With the lower kv motor you can also put in a much more powerful lipo battery (4s, 5s, 6s...). You don't have to...
RRP (robinson racing products) sells them in six packs:
Here's a picture of the damage.
MY LHS had all of the parts (even the bottom chassis) except the nitro cam adjusters (grey parts). I haven't had time to rebuild yet as we have been pinewood derby...
Did you get things put back together yet? Did you get all of the parts you ordered?
Sounds great. Have some fun with it. Put a fast motor in it and crash it like some of us like to do. Just kidding, it's your toy enjoy it how you will. Looking forward to some pics.
Got up to 58 mph last weekend. Slowly creeping up there until I nailed a big curb at 51mph. Worst wreck yet. Broken bottom chassis, side frames, tension adjuster, rear diff, bent shock... It's bad....
Someone may know the answer to your question here but I think you might have better luck in the nitro 4 tec section. This is the electric 4 tec section. Sorry I can't help otherwise.
Aren't the side frames sold in a set (left and right)?
Unfortunately I had another wreck this weekend. My car looks much worse than yours.:(( I'll post more about it later.
Simply put the idea behind the lower kv motors is that you can gear them much higher and use more powerful batteries (4s to 6s). The upper kv motors can only use 2s or 3s and you're supposed use...
I agree. If pavementsurfer's stampede run is an "official" record then there is no reason that draven3907's shouldn't be. In fact draven's should be more reliable because he obviously has several...
