Embrace the scratches. A lot of top dogs in the v classes scratch their hulls on purpose to gain speed. Its called scuffing.
hd, not to get to tech here but yes they are safety's. They smooth out the power surges. The caps are marked positive and negative. Solder them on the esc lead as close to the esc as possible. Most...
Stick with the 2s lipos and you will never have a problem, just fun.
I would switch your connectors to at least 5.5mm billets. Bigger wire is never a bad idea.
The outerlimits is an excellent boat but made to run on 4s. Some people are getting away with 5s for short runs. Its going to be a good race if hes running 5s and your on 6s.
Yes the Blackjack setup in a Blackjack on 6s is on the limit but will handle it. That same setup in a much larger and heaver Spartan will fail.
Given the size of the boat, on 4s with a stock prop you will be on the limit of the esc but might be ok, but no wave jumping.
A few tips. Power is correct, no need for the plastic liner with the upgrade flex. Just grease the flex every three runs or so. Same with the upgrade bushing, pack the holes with grease.
There was another brand that would shed blades pretty quick on electric but the ones Jan has work great in clean water. If you want to do wave jumping then I would go with stainless.
The vents serve no purpose, seal them up. Its my understanding when they changed the hull from the original they never bothered to change the hatch to match.
Excellent job. What are you going to use for a suspension?
Just a note on the rudder. It looks like its a direct bolt on which makes things easy, but it is a "Hydro" style rudder. Hydro rudders have the leading edge angled to creat lift and plant the boat on...
Forget the middle men, go to the manufacturers. Aeromarine and Kintec have it.
The collet on the left is the Octura 2pc clunker. They work fine but start to look ugly after a year in the weather.
Hog is correct, only the leading side should be worked. Polishing the under side will actually loose speed but they do look good on the shelf or in photos.
Lets see the rest of the paint job, looks good.
Wow thats backwards. When the bottom of the rudder is kicked away from the transom in creats lift at the transom, great for hydros. Kicking the bottom of the rudder towards the transom will suck the...
I have done more then a few rudders in my life and I would say the guy in the video might have helped it but the key is to make it like a scoop. If you use a dremel tulip bulb type bit you can...
