Next up, my Summit. I didn't feel the need to modify this truck much. I added a Novak Smartstop to the ESC for Lipo-battery capability, and the Outerwear's breathable chassis cover. As well as...
Sad to say guys, I'm getting out of RC. I put 'em down about a year ago. I just don't have time for 'em anymore between job/career, and my big boy toys (real vehicles). So I'm selling it all.
They'll help your spider gears from eating themselves under a high torque load, just like a Brushless Revo with big old Monster Truck tires produces.
I only had one of the bearings get smashed into my carriers. Obviously it comes from the diff cup pushing back on the dogbones on a hard awkward landing. I simply adjusted my pivot balls out in the...
When I was getting my E-Slayer to handle (E-Revo based), nothing helped more than the center diff and tire selection.
That's only of you like looking fast, but actually going slow. New 5.0 Mustang is the way to go. Much lighter weight car, less expensive car, faster car. Turns 12's bone stock. Easy addition of a...
Really like mine:
it can fit, but not well
here's a rustler body on my stampede 4x4
RC4WD Rock Crushers here
I've got some Mudslingers as well, but can't seem to find a pic of 'em on the truck.
Of course, but a higher COG makes for worse handling...
have you used them yet?
they are awful expensive!
I'm running a single JR hi tourque servo on mine.
Just like any truck, part of getting the Slayer to handle well is setup. And there's A LOT of suspension tuning/setup available with a Revo...
Bigger, heavier, and at least mine handles better. Even when the Slash isn't in basher trim like that. It handles great!
Yeah, I just wouldn't have bought Pre-Mounts, that way you could tape them up first, but with the short sidewall, Buggy tires usually aren't as bad as most on the ballooning.
Cool! I've been wanting to throw some Badlands or Big Blocks on it and go tear up some grass!
I run Buggy sized Calibers
I still like the 3.2 tires over the 3.8's. They weigh less and handle better. Although I do really like my 3.8 Badlands on TRX 3.8 1/2 offset Geode wheels.
I applaud your efforts. You seem to be on the right track, fixing both drivetrain and exterior issues with the car. Time is coming soon for some boost I say!
Btw, my pickup runs 10's.
The size/weight of the SCT or buggy wheels puts A LOT less stress on the diffs compared to the massive MT tires. My 1/8 scale diffs probably weren't necessary, but I had them, so why not!?
Can't remember exactly, but since I'm running a 2200kv motor, and 1/8 scale diffs (3.31 ratio vs Traxxas 2.85), and generally only on 4s Lipo, so I fit the tallest Mod 1 gearing I could. Smallest...
Cool! Don't forget Slayer Pro bumpers, pushrods, and toe links!
I was afraid of breaking the Slayer shafts, and I since I use Summit long shafts in my Revo, I had some short shafts lying around. ...
