Your hi/low gear lock might be stuck... Try putting some WD40 on that pin the servo shifts in and out. I had the same thing happen and lubricating the pin worked like a charm.

I've had both and I think either would work if you just got some bigger tires for the mud and snow...
But out of the box, Slash 4x4. Check out the Summit too :)

I recently upgraded to the MM2 2200kv combo and it's perfect for the Summit. I did a lot of research and geared it with a 15 pinion and 58 spur. On 4s it's amazing... there's no cogging at crawling...
