I beg to differ. I run the BFG S1 on my Spit Sixes with zero problems.
They came with the truck.
Love the Split Six! Cant speak for 3s use but have zero issues with 2s and non proline tires :D
Stock bearing in my STRC motor mount, not even a hint of a problem. Gear & drive shaft cover on. Snow, mud, water, salt, sand. My 6808 HCG just laughs at it. After bashing I wash it down with water,...
Yah. Take an appropriate sized drill bit and drill a divet into the output shaft of the motor using minimal pressure. Divet should resemble the divet on a golf ball. 1/32 of an inch deep. Then...
For me the S1.
An absolutely great motor combo is the Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT 3800kv motor combo. Waterproof, ROAR approved, BIG plus for me. Runs SUPERB with the stock 3000 MaH battery.
Why does Traaxxas not recommend using position #1 on the arm?
Yeah, strength and heat disipation. Win win.
I run the Traxxas blue bearings. Through you name it. Bashing. Never a problem except for the slipper bearing, but that was totally my fault.
I want as much suspension movement/travel as possible. So that meant soft springs. I also love the silky smooth travel of 30wt oil in the shocks.
Now with that combo, bottoming out...
Have you tried it? Link to the discussion?
1/8th of a turn with the alumunum pads for bashing on non pavement. No idea for speed runs on pavement.
Just copying what the 1:1 trucks do, if it works, great! If not.. great! Lol.
Slash model 6808 HCG, Integy piggyback shocks, BFG S1's, Proline Split Sixes & Silverado body, TRX aluminum suspension components, SRTC bead rings & motor mount, Castle Creations SCT waterproof motor...
There yah go, Slash on Mars.. put the LED lights on her cause all the mud and water is underground! :D
Was there ever any doubt?
How well does the clay stick? Have you run it since you balanced it?
I reconize excellents when I see it. :D
I'm a few towns east of you, Winnipeg specifically, if I'M ever out your way we're going to your fave bashing spot for some photos!
Thanks guys. Perhaps I'll wait and see what engine options in the future are.
You know, those are some awesome photos! Artistic.
I respect all opinions :) Spring and the season of wet, wet, wet mud is coming soon around my area. We'll see how the S1 performs. :D
And theres a reason why I went from the badlands to the S1. I own a couple sets of Badlands btw.
Guess its different strokes for different folks.
Wellllll I'm not a kid. I'm in my fourth decade of life. I also do know how to use a temp gun. Soooooo if I say it isnt overheating, I am confident it isnt overheating.
Against my buddies set of Badlands in deep/packed/loose snow and ice. My Traxxas S1 kicked butt. We both have the 6808. Maybe I have my suspension dialed in alot better lol.
I seriously need to...
