how much for the rolling chassis minus the wheels/tires?
there's also the option of using the board from a servo and driving the lights off the wires that drove the servo motor.
another vote for lipo.
the charger is a bigger expense up front, but its well worth it
its cool 4-wheelin. she loves the stadium truck and I quickly fell in love with the stampede. So it worked out great for both of us this way :]
I got the stampede from 4-wheelin (thanks again for the deal)
It was orginally a yellow esc'd xl-5, it's still stock except that he put a blue esc in it.
The rustler is something I've been working...
I'm going to have to go visit my dad, I'm pretty sure he has a roll of small chain that would probably work perfect for that
the lipo will give you more even power throughout the cycle. In other words, halfway through your run, you'll still have about as much power as you had at the beginning of the run.
as far as losing...
that's good news, my slash 2wd bumper is in the mail. nice to no it will be a bolt on.
as far as snow, how would paddles be on the back of a 2wd
I also need to find some snow tires :P but I'm sure you know all about that
I've got a 4300kv g-force motor and an ez-run 60 amp esc that I was THINKING of putting in it, but I'm really liking the waterproof aspect that I've got now
Thought I was getting one for my daughter, she doesn't like the way it drives. She wants something more like her brothers rustler. Well, she can have mine :P We are going to do a little swapping....
I know this is an old thread, but GORGEOUS bug,
and I notice you switched to paddles, but how well did the ripsaws last, did they wear really quick? what kind of driving did you do with them?
I appreciate the honesty, I'd rather have a stock height truck that will last me a while than a taller one that's going to spend more time getting repaired :]
thanks guys, I wasn't looking to go too much bigger, just wondering how tall I could go.
I was offered a great deal on a set of tires that were 6 inches tall. I guess I'll pass on them.
With gearing adjusted accordingly, how much tire can a stampede safely handle without tearing things up?
that would be my concern, not sure how much abuse that battery holder would handle, might have to give it its own aluminum skid plate.
The real downside I see to it is the lack of center clearance,...
how does your daughter like it.
I got one for my 11 year old and she wants me to change everything on it :\
She wants me to put stadium truck tires on it, and a stadium truck body, and lower it...
that is really cool don
not a body I'd personally run... but. we had one lying around, and a stampede, so in case anyone ever wanted to do a hard body jeep on their pede, here is how a newbright wrangler would look...
grats, way to make a great gift even better
bought a stampede from him. Not only was it a great deal, but he sent it SUPER quick, and also threw in some extras.
Thank you SO much
I'm on a super tight budget and can't afford a waterproof servo.
I've seen replacement cases with gaskets for the waterproof servos pretty cheap.
Would the guts from a standard traxxas servo fit in...
sorry to bring back such an old thread, but has anyone ever gone through with putting a grave robber on a stretched pede? if so, please post pics.
also, how about a bug body other than the one they...
wow, good thread, lots of helpful info.
How old is your daughter? I just bought a used one for my 11 year old daughter yesterday, an xl-5 as well.
Now she will be able to run with her brothers...
Thank you again.
We are glad to hear peanut is doing well.
Did they have to do any extractions?
