This is my feelings exactly. I'm always hoping I can get someone else into my hobby and hopefully have a new bashing buddy.
People do always ask me how fast my car goes, and that is a very good...
It doesn't hurt to have a few extra spur gears on hand.
They do wear out from time to time and it stinks to have your day cut short by a $3 part.
This body looks like it should fit the stock xl5 wheelbase: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001208459&I=LXXGU9&P=K
I've been thinking about giving it a try myself.;)
I run STRC C-blocks in both of my pedes and have stock steering blocks in one and RPM blocks in the other and both fit in the aluminum STRC C-blocks with no slop at all.
I'll have some STRC steering...
That looks awesome!
I always wanted to put a VW bug on my pede.
Sorry, but I just might have to copy your idea(I promise I'll paint it different though)
I haven't tried it with those other models but I'd bet that it wouldn't be compatible with any other models.
As far as the stiffness of the wheel compared to the traxxas TX, it's about the same...
I picked up this radio from hobby partz
I know you can get it at hobby king for cheaper but, this one arrived at my door in less than a week plus shipping was only $4.99.
It's basically a...
The 5700kv has plenty more torque than I could use or even need in a pede.
It's a little different than the stock one, plus it's aluminum.
I'm not much for modding a TX but for just $2.80, I couldn't pass it up. Plus I was ordering something from the place anyways.
I love my castle 5700kv for the programmability alone.
I put a heatsink on and geared it properly and heat hasn't been an issue.
I have a sidewinder and the mamba max and I waterproofed the...
I bought this steering wheel for my TX from megatech for $2.80.........................
It was for Traxxas TX's but I made a slight...
I buy all my parts from Towerhobby or thetoyz.com, and occasionally liquidRC.
thetoyz.com and liquidRC has the faster shipping, but thetoyz has a better selection than liquid.
I've already been contemplating buying a 4x4 slash, adding some mashers on 2.2 pede rims and adding a pickup truck body(J concepts Gladiator)
I'd definitely love a 4x4 pede.
I wouldn't want an...
Another vote for the mashers here.
I love them.
I used some thick braided fishing line for mine then tied one end on one clip, passed the line in one mounting hole and out the other then tied the other clip on the other end. I think it looks more...
instead of spending $70 on the XL5/titan you could get this for just $27 more....... http://www.nitrorcx.com/ezrun-brushless-system-combo-b5-w--60a-esc.html
Then you stampede much faster than an...
I agree that all the little parts aren't necessary, and the truck should be driven first but, ball bearings are pretty important. The brass wheel bushings will wear out fairly quickly and begin to...
I second the RPM bumper, aluminum C-blocks are also nice and will prevent bent kingpins. Also I would recommend a set of ball bearings for the wheels.
You'll need 8- 5x11mm bearings for the wheels,...
these look pretty close to what your looking at http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUWD6&P=7
They're cheaper than the other ones and will definitely fit rpm rims.
I run a MM 5700kv on my pede.
I have it geared 16/90 and a heatsink on the motor( i cut away the plastic on the stock tranny to fit it) and I run 2s lipo in it, and masher 2ks.
I also added a 25mm...
Looks great, I lowered mine too with the slash front body mount, and did something similar to what you did with the rear.
I agree that the stock stampede does look ridiculous with the body so high.
My estimates might be high, your probably right.
I'll strap a gps on it one of these days and find out for sure.
I use a 2s with my 5700kv and gear it 16/86, and get over 40+mph.
If you use a 3s I'd gear it way lower, maybe 12 or 13t pinion to start.
I'm not sure what kind of speed you looking for but I don't...
The rusty conversion idea sounds good since you have a new xl5/vxl pede and slash.
SPC makes good packs, that one will be nice with your vxl.
I run the 2s version of that pack with my mamba max 5700kv and love it.
I'm not sure about the balancer, never heard of it. I use the...
