Thanks for the insight on this Hog, i think i'm going to try it out this weekend, hopefully it comes out as clean as yours! lol
Hog, do you mind sharing how you filled in the back hatches so cleanly? I think i can get them sanded down quite easily, but filling them in cleanly is what I'm stuck on..
I am the same boat as I live in northern Michigan (no pun intended )
Anyone have any tips on good battery (lipo) maintenance for the off season? Is it bad to just let them sit charged while...
I was going to remove those tabs as well as they seem to do more harm than good...did you just dremel them down so that they are flush with the rear?
mine are stainless? What version do you have? It is recommended however to always spray with some WD-40 or CorrosionX to add some additional waterproofing.
Figured you probably did, do you remember what size drill bit? I still want a fairly snug fit...anyone?
Skidman, I'm using the same tubing and also plan on getting the same rudder that you have pictured above. Did you have to make the stock hole bigger to fit this tubing? I was able to get the tubing...
I second the post above. I'm having a hard time measuring the adjustment as well. I have the the adjustable tabs from OSE.
Shift, do you mind going into more detail what you mean here.
I too am having difficulty running on a 6s setup. Currently I basically only have cooling upgrades. Is it best to have the batteries...
Anyone have any experience with these?
Thanks for all the great info! I use a Onyx 230 which charges LIPOs but unfortunately, does not come with built in balancing. My LHS recommended a 35$ adapter that would sit between the charger and...
Is it necessary to check the balance of each battery before each run? If you have 2 identical batteries, wont your LIPO charger always charge them to their full capacity?
Welcome to the forums!
I am fairly new to boats as well, but I have gotten a lot of help here on the forums, there are many knowledgeable people who you can learn a lot from.
As far as...
As always, thanks for the great info Hog. Does the new Castle ESC have auto detect mode?
I was curious about this as well. Im new the LIPO scene and was told to steer away from this from my LHS as they stated even if they are the same MAH rating, the 2s battery would discharge quicker...
Are any of the props mentioned above sold without needing to balance them? This is my first boat and I would like to upgrade the prop, but I have no clue how to balance them..
Do you mind sharing a picture of where you place the velcro on the batteries/inside the hull? I'm thinking that i would like to do the same but am curious as to how you have it done. Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks Breeze and Mojo, Ill give it a shot!
Last and final question: What size drill bit did you use to make holes for the inner set of trim tabs? I have a dremmel that I would like to use to do this (I am aware of the flashlight inside the...
Thanks for all the help Mojo, Im going to try it this weekend! How have you liked the Prather 215? Is it noticeable over the stock prop?
Mojo, I was referring more to the actual installation of the the new prop/bullet nut. This is my first boat so I am not sure where to start. If anyone could help, that would be great!
Mojo, just got a pair of these and they are great!
Also, I see that you have a new prop and bullet nut, how did you install those? What did you use to clamp the drive shaft?
Mojo, just got a...
It certainly has as distinct whine, however, it seems to only do this at higher RPM's so much that the ESC light will blink. I'll see I can get a video so you can hear the sound.
I got my Spartan a few days ago, this will be my first RC boat.
I took the esc/engine tray out and completely re-greased the shaft, put some oil in the engine bearings, and greased the strut etc....
They look nice, may have to invest in a couple of these!
