Thunderpower had more punch than anything I've used....although I'm ordering SPC next....
Easy fix for shafts are LST ones, if you are running the RPM carriers with the larger outer bearings (able to hold 8x16mm bearing for the 8mm stubs) then just get 8mm hexes.
But yes, driven...
It will be a very effective insulator when the fan dies.
That's a little hot. 180 max, and have read that castle says 170.
See what castle says.
This is the first time I've heard of anyone blowing 2 motors. I highly doubt it's your gearing or 6s.
What were the temps when blown?
Likely the diffs will go, axles too. A quick search for "erevo upgrades" will answer your questions
Should be, what bearings did you use?
Also if you didn't upgrade your bearings, then replacing the diff was futile.
LST diffs. Honestly man, it's easier than you think. I got bulkheads off ebay for less than $10 delivered, the grinding of the bulkhead and diff case was slow for the first one, but I bet I could...
You are on borrowed time using stock diffs no matter which way you look at it.
Nope, you can just wait until the diff blows again
Or do what some of us have done, spend a bunch of money on parts that turn out to be junk.
I hit it with heat on the stove for 4-5 hours then let it sit for 2 days, still didn't take. Oh well, now that they are mostly black, the next bath will do the trick I'm sure.
If there've was a reason to allow swearing, this post is that reason.
So I used one bottle of rit dye for the rim bath. I've always just need one to to the job, but it just didn't take and...
LST diffs. Everything else just puts off the enevitable.
I use acer sin lube on mine, and don't take it apart but I'll take my wheels off after a really dirty run.
Just cleaning after runs, keep the bearings lubed.
I have always used acer ceramics, great service (although I have yet to need to return or replace one). Expensive though.
The back ones get hit with a lot more dirt and need more service than fronts
Personally, I would be replacing them. If it is the 8x16mm carrier bearings that you are referring to, then just go with avid bearings or really upgrade to Acer ceramics.
Bearing failed sending chunks into the diff gear is what I would put my money on.
The rims are already in the dye bath...but I like your idea! I'm not sure what I was going to do with the body yet, thinking about possibly chrome/silver/black shell but I do have a...
I have a couple 3s 5000mah 35-70c and a couple 4s 5000mah 35-70c lipos from the site who's name shall not be spoken. Testing so far only with the 6s setup, I'm actually holding off...
Thank nils! Another week and a half and I should have a vid testing outside
The rims showed up today, i ordered 2 sets so I could make better use of a dye bath but I don't know, might keep one...
