with my pushrods on the outer most position and the spring collars wound almost all the way down, my front control arms point slightly down towards the middle of the chassis. in other words, the...
2S for the track
3S for pavement
this is so awesome!!
well done sir :)
Well I snapped another chassis / front bulkhead. Before ordering the factory stuff and getting it back together, I was thinking that a long wheelbase for this thing would be sweet.
I run 3s on a 23t pinion for parking lot bashing. It does get quite hot even with the stock body modified for air flow. I have the traxxas heatsink installed and I have been known to hit thermal...
Sway bars limit traction. So if you're coming into a turn hot, hit the brake, the weight shifts to the front. Now when making the turn there is less weight on the back and less traction during the...
the output gear in the tranny is driven by a metal gear. that gear develops play in it, giving a clicking sound.
You're right, how silly of me. Instead of shredding a 65 dollar set of bearings, I should have destroyed a 165 dollar set. Makes perfect sense, thank you.
...right. just stick to factory...
I agree with the above post. I put some boca green seals all around, and didnt notice a real difference. didnt take too long to trash a couple bearings on the street with a 3 cell ... 2 tires came...
HR all the way :)
or the traxxas threaded cups in factory knuckles, I hear those work out nicely.
I am currently on rally springs, 2.9 front 80w, 3.4 rear 240w (ae 3000cst) summit red pistons, HR shock bodies.
I have the stiffest bars (silver) installed front and rear. havent played with sway bar stiffness yet. I tried blue springs front, purple springs rear, and liked it a lot, but couldnt get it low...
any reason why all the replies to this thread are getting deleted?
do you have the TQi? if so, brakes are adjustable.
I'm still on factory axles and drive shafts. other than popping an occasional u-joint, no real issues. and even that can probably be remedied by loosening the slipper a bit. definitely no...
how did you mount the shocks? do factory hollow balls fit in the upper cap?
looks like their just screwed in, unable to pivot?
2S 23/50 is generally safe
Yes you need to match firmer springs with thicker oil, otherwise it will be bouncy.
quick video at the local track. I filmed, while a young driver took the helm. he's maybe 10 or 11, and the kids pretty good.
I didnt want to trim down the front arms. I want as much front track width as possible. I find that I need more steering around the track. it has a tendency to push. I have to drift into...
2S for the track, 3S for big empty parking lots :)
Also, I have RPM front arms and I noticed that in order to get the proper front toe adjustment I had to thread the pillow balls in so close to...
You can zip tie the rockers together.
Or use rally springs. I'm on 2.9 front 3.4 rear. I love it. Good compromise for street and track.
I love what you've done here.
have you done a speed check on it? very interested and curious about this motor. you bring up a great point, the motor is quite heavy and sits so high.
