I have several of the HobbyWing ESCs and Motors. I have NEVER had one fail in any way. Definitely get the program card
The most important part about taping is keeping from distorting the tire. The tape should be snug, not bunched or stretched. I prefer suirrelod's approach of spreading the tape in a line on the...
Here's a great tutorial
The plastic is soft enough to thread over the existing threads. I also keep a few spare rod ends, they're cheap (TRA7059)
The rods cost about a dollar apiece by the time you cut them, but you can usually usually use the rod ends from the existing rods so at least there's no cost there.
Another issue is the type of grass. Bluegrass and fescue are relatively easy to drive through. But grass like bermuda (vines - bad ju-ju) seem to grab at the wheels and you get no speed; you also...
I do, I seem to bite curbs a lot (bad driving...) but I cut a few for tie rod and toe lengths and I'm good to go.
Yes you're right, so you have to disconnect one end to make adjustments. Luckily it's a one time thing.
It's not a perfect solution, but it's cheap and they work well without breaking
I bought these too. It may be because I had an all aluminum suspension at the time, but I broke 3 of them. The ones I made myself have held up without a problem.
Here's a Toe Link made with 5-40...
Gorilla tape doesn't stretch either. It holds and stays put!
Keep in mind that soft ballooning tires also have more friction and heat loss due to the flexing. I get faster runs with foams than anything else
I talked to the Jaco people and the only foams they make with 12mm hex hubs are:
JAC2020 - Outside Diameter: 107.5mm (4.23") Mounting Hole: 12mm Width: 50mm (1.97")
JAC2030 - Outside...
I know that voice too! It pushed me until I bought a Neu 1110/1Y 3.2. Doh!
hey 50, what no pics?
hey hammer, any probs with the two servos hunting against each other? Humming?
While we're on the subject of bearings, how do you clean them thoroughly but safely?
I finally gave up on servo tape and I use velcro to mount the esc and receiver.
Doh!!! It is!
I have the MMP and stock motor. I do a lot better running 2 - 3S in parallel rather than a single 3S battery, even with the weight. (I'm running on pavement, not bashing)
Hey Cameron, what's with the bad romance signature?
Hey 50, sorry 'bout the Acers, I know how psyched you were when you got them
Was that a TRX CVD???
Hey Beaz, is that just window screen or what?
RPM Arms and a 390 servo. HR Carriers after that. Definitely!
